    Just arrived here after so many years playing bass. Great forum with great subjects, and nice basses to purchase.

    I work around the world as I am touring with a cruise ship band, and I play mainly with F bass 5 (just like Alain Caron Replica but from 93) and Noguera YC5.

    I also like vintage fender basses , jazz & pbass, fclef basses so I might purchase some of the nice basses here.

    See you around.

    Welcome did_bassman (: i like your gears

    Hi everyone.

    Where can I find out more about fills and soloing and applying them in a band context within different genres? Any recommended books, video lessons etc. I'm not looking for anything fancy like ‘Jazz noodling’, just something that is going to 'get me through', when called for. I am often a ‘by the pattern’ player, so something with plenty of exercises to choose from would be ideal.

    Cheers!

    You can check this book for your improvisations "Jamey Aebersold - ii v i progression" and there is play alongs with it (:

    For your fills, my comment is listen a lot and play what you like (:

    Hello All;

    Been lurking a few times and figured I'd join you. I have been on TalkBass for a few years and thought I'd reach out to the European side of things, a bit.

    Welcome (:

    Hi, I've had this profile for a while but I'm honestly more of a lurker...untill now! I can't remember if I put an introduction up so when prompted by the front page I thought now might be a good time.

    i live just above London, played in mainly in one band on and off for years, arty post rock ala big black, killing joke type stuff. My main bass for years was a burns bison reissue, however, while working in Europe for 6 months a friend who lost his flat ended up stealing it along with a few effects pedals and  an amp head. Everything bar the burns was recovered. I am still quite upset about this.

    anyway I've mainly come back here to sell some gear, specifically two music man big Als (4) and (5).

    anyway that's all. Did I do this right?

    Welcome Basselfman (:
