I bought a non reverse thunderbird from Phil. Top chap to deal with, good comms and sorted a good place to meet up.
I look forward to seeing the HW bass in the future 🙂

What's the weight of the bass please? Any issues with neck dive?

Purchased a Fender hard case from David. He's friendly with great communications and we had a good chat when I collected the case. Overall a very pleasant and easy transaction

Here is my Epiphone classic pro that I had changed to a single pickup. The wiring is obviously different to a 2 pickup thunderbird so turning down the bridge pickup on a 2 pickup model doesn't give you the same sound as the one pickup does.
Overend Watts used to have a shop in Hereford and I spent many hours talking to him about music and basses. He always said he felt the single pickup Thunderbirds cut through better than the twin pickup models. That to me sums up the difference perfectly.

I've recently got hold of a MK1 TB head and paired it with the isobaric 212 cab and I have to say, I'm very impressed! I know a few people weren't fans of the 212, but for me, it works really well. Super loud, great tone (albeit different to what I'm used to), and really portable.
The power on those heads is just insane.....
Similar experience here. I bought the Mk1 TB as a back up for my Ampeg rig but loved the sound so much I got rid of the Ampeg.
I use two of the isobaric 212 cabs and I've yet to play a gig where I can get the volume & tone above 4

I used to use them but could never find the bloody things at a dark pub gig on top of my dark amp, so I switched to .94mm luminous ones

Blimey, I never knew such things existed!! Having also suffered from the disappearing black pick syndrome I'm going to have to try these. Thanks Paul 👍

I really like the Heistercamp straps, although now I've found this thread I'm tempted by the Well Hung straps.......

The black Dunlop nylon 1 mm picks for me. I can keep hold of them and they don't snap 🙂

Always a shame, it is easier to keep customers than get new ones. I have personally never had particularly good dealings with them, and they aren't a place I would use for anything that I couldn't get anywhere else.
I've had bad experiences twice with Bass direct, ordering Hipshot tuners and then ordering Mike Lull pickups. Never again

I bought some schaller strap locks from Mike. Easy chap to deal with and an easy transaction ☺️

I bought a Couch strap from Tim. Quick and easy transaction, good comms and great strap. Tim was also kind enough to enlighten me about feedback threads and start one for me - Top man!

I think my Gibson Thunderbirds are around 8 to 9lbs. My Epiphone Classic pro's are a shade heavier and my Epiphone Vintage pro is probably around 10lbs.

I've had a set of Thunderbird pickups from Mojo pickups:

I had a chat with Marc about the sound before I bought them, and he wound them slightly hotter for me. Really pleased with the sound and the service I got from him.
