I'm surprised I haven't seen more posts about using a neck shim or a neck tilt function. If your relief is set to .012 then you should be able to muck around with the saddles to get it as low as possible. If you need to, you can put a shim under the neck or in the neck pocket to bring it closer. Do you have feeler gauges?

Sell it and get a black top jazz. That's a jazz neck and body with 2 precision pickups.

Which basses do you have? Setup helps. Jamming with tunes helps. Mix it up and you will find your joy with greater frequency.

If you get the P and MM config you could always coil tap the MM. Or you could just get a Peavey T40 and see what the hype is all about.

Get the L2500. It is a tone monster and so versatile from what I have seen thus far. 12" fretboard radius as well will have it feeling more modern too.

I played fretless back in high school for the jazz band. Took it to a classic rock gig and got chastised for "bad intonation", even though it was a lined fretless.

Yes like some of you I did consider putting it up for sale. I was entertaining some trade offers when I decided I didn't want to put it up anymore and kept it. Lucky for me I was able to get that mysterious 5/16" wrench - fyi it's the same one that is used for a Gibson Les Paul.
