I drop down my E string to D for a few songs during our set and it's ok - feels maybe a bit floppy and I certainly wouldn't want to go any lower (I also use 45-105 usually).  I put up with it because it's only for a couple of songs.  Downtuning ALL the strings might have more repercussions in terms of overall string floppiness and neck relief (neck might get straighter because the strings aren't pulling against the truss rod as much so I think the truss rod might need to be loosened).

I'm sure someone will be along soon who has actually done this and has got better advice than I can offer.

    I hope so neepheid.

  2. Is there anything out there worth checking out ?

My local Ukulele band have asked me to join them and add some bass to their gigs. No problem indoors with power, but outside at fetes, busking etc, power is not always a option.

Is there anything out there ?

    Thanks

  3. Another one of my beauties surplus to my collection. Cutting right back due to space and storage costs.

I can get more pics once I bring it out if interested. Another immaculate example of just how good Laklands are.

In the picture of the 3 “44’s” it’s the one on the left. The one on the right is a US one and a keeper.

It will be sold ‘as is’ without case but I will negotiate for a boxy type case or a hiscoc

Prefer collection or will mutually meet up if not too far

  4. More of my collection up for sale….

Beautiful and immaculate bass. It must be 10 years since I last played it.
I will get more pics once out of the storage house.

Theres No case supplied but I could arrange a Gig bag or Hardcase (Hiscoc) at extra.

Prefer collection or mutual meet if not too far.

  5. Very sad to see this one go, but time to cut back on my collection.

This immaculate Korean made bass is amazing to play and had plenty of comments on how good it sounds.

Some of the pics are a bit naff but I will get some more done shortly.

I’m not keen of posting basses, but I will consider mutual travelling.

I also can't get on with flats and like D'Addario EXL160M on my Mustang. They seem to last pretty well and have good zing.

And yep, medium scale is correct for a through body strung Mustang.

EXL160M, are you using that through the body ? Or should I go for 170M ?

Sorry, brain freeze. Just ordered EXL160M. MANY THANKS
