I play a Fender 1964 precision(pre-CBS)and it sounds beautiful. My second bass is an Hayman 4040.Lovely neck (Maple).I also have an Aria acoustic for when I'm feeling lazy and I can't be bothered to plug in. By the way, where can I find spare parts for the 4040? ( Hopeless cause ? ).

You could only get away with this "ageing"fashion with Fender type basses. Just think if this effect was done to Rickenbacker's or Gibsons,it would not look "right"some how.They would look sruffy, don't you think??

I have a pre- CBS fender pre. 1964, lovely tone,sunburst finish ( a bit scuffed over the years ) My second bass is a Hayman 4040 from early "70"s good action but very heavy.
