In short the answer is 'No'.
ok. thanks for your help!

    :)

  2.
Look here. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=135

In short; your cabs if connected together via any combination of amp to cab or cab to cab using normal speaker leads will be in parallel.
this is all so confusing. :) so basicly the answer is no its not possible?

  3.
Without making yourself a special lead (or rewiring your cabs internally) you'd not be able to run both cabs at once... but why would you! A 4ohm 8x10 cab is getting the max from your amp and you'd surely be able to hear yourself, what benefit from adding another cab?
just wanted to mix the sound of the 2 cabs

  4.
You have the AH350SMX? Wow! I don't feel so alone in the world anymore... :)

Seriously, I love the amp, but in terms of paperwork, it does appear to have been erased from history. Though I've seen one or two on ebay in the past.
I love my ah1200 too! trace was an awsome british amp.
i managed to get the manual too download and mine isnt mentioned! the biggest 1 on there is the AH600.

  5.
It was a small series due to the Gibson takeover and subsequent liquidation of the company. I had a chat with Andy Ewen, and ex-trace employee who was selling off old stock on ebay, here's what he had to say about them:
well mines an AH1200 not the 1000. its been gigged regularly for about 13 years, and has never given me any grief what so ever.
    :)

  6.
I've had a look at this 'ere amp in the past.. it sure is a beast. What I can remember is that the two poweramp modules are wired in parallel mono operation and, as suggested are rated at 600W each at a given impedance.
given impedance? sorry im not up on me tech speak. lol. :) and i did manage to get it to open! yay!!

  7.
Most of what I (think I) know has already been said, but the trace range at that time consisted of either the SM or SMX preamp on top of various sized poweramps.

The SM range is the 7-band EQ, and the SMX range was 12 band, with greater connectivity/compressor functions

Linking this to Doug Wimbish, he was certainly using the SMX at the time (according to the promo/endorsement shots I remember).

The 1200 in the amps name refers to the powerstage, which would be 2x 600w, or 1200w bridged. I think the others in the range were the 300, 400, and 600. The 1200 powerstage could drive an elephant and the 'popular' arrangment of cabs was 2 x 1x15" with 2 x 4x10 w/horn. Awesome.
cheers. i didnt know it was goin to this hard tryin to find info on it. i managed to get the owners manul to down load but it does not mention my amp! lol

  8.
I'll come over with my TE porn, yes.

Sadly, tho, that ain't the head, that's from ~1999 and it's the AH1000-12 rather than an AH1200SM. But I reckon it would be a similar size!
i will try and post sum pics of mine up on here. mines got a 7band eq. but i does look similar.

    cheers.
