Indeed, location may help
And wow! Looks like a bargain for someone
I'm just wondering what material might be best to fix the de-threaded strap button? Araldite rapid, or some similar Epoxy Resin?
GLWTS - shouldn't be around long, at that priceI'll edit post with location. I'm based in bedford. I've had some offers now so if the man still wants it I'll mark it as sold o nthe 12th. I'm out of uk untill then.
something of that sort for a real fix, I think you could use wood with the right glue....it's a bit of a fine art and there's many disputed methods. My understanding is that matchsticks are fine if you use the correct glue I remember reading a post an old luthier wrote.

hey everyone I'm back in two days... let me know if you're interested!
It's sexy it's got a 4 band eq similar to the bongo and both active and passive electronics.
some people will think it's ugly some will think it's amazing I think it's both!
4.3 kg so pretty light for a big 5 string, feels balanced with a very fast neck.
theres a small light scratch on the back other then that in perfect condition with plastic still on scratch plate. Used in studio only.
as an extra you'll get a spare 90 pound music man official humbucker with it! i ordered in through Ernieball with a supplier so it's the real thing but I think it was not working?? Or I couldn't make it work,.? No idea.

Hi,
So I had my bass head up as sold unfortunately me and the buyer couldn't meet and I was too busy to post it++ postage costs started to make it quite complicated. As a result of all this I'm going to say I'd like collection only unless we can talk about an alternative to make it easier.
collection will be from cambrige
with that out the way. The amp! It's a complete beast very power as used by tool and red hot chili peppers, can support gks nice neo line of cabs for extra clarity.
very well built comes with foot switch for its natural overdrive mode.
Here's something I didn't write about it:The 2001RB Amplifier Head is Gallien-Krueger's big gun with 2 - 500W woofer amps bridgeable to 1000W and 2 - 50W horn amps. It is capable of getting the deep, floor-shaking, warm sound that powers reggae bands. For rock players it features a special design distortion circuit that lets you quickly dial in the perfect growl and drive, and which automatically mutes the horns when the high-gain channel is activated. For funk players, its voicing filters and biamp controls let you scoop the mids and add the perfect high-end edge needed for popping. For any style of music performed on arena stages, the 2001RB is the amp of choice for top professionals.
That's all folks.

Hey everyone,
Based in bedford
selling my second bass I owned(technically third...we don't talk about the first)
one of the ergodyne series, its a fixer upper the top strap point has dethreaded bottom is fine with original part. It's in a more unsual triple coil config... the switch has snapped off HOWEVER it still works and all electrics are fully intact. I WILL UPLOAD MORE PHOTOS!!- my camera just won't focus right I'll get more online when I have a friends iPhone.
other then that it doesn't need a set up(unless you like very very low action) there's a bit of wear and tear but honestly I'm surprised that it's not more scratched😅. An age before I was really jumping about on stage...
I've seen just body without electrics go for 80 pound on gumtree and in perfect condition 200-400 depending on modal demand etc.
Neck is very thin and fast, the whole hole thing is made of Luthite a fake composite wood thing.
included is a picture of yours truly tuning up before one of my old bands first pub gigs at age 14. Not sure if this will encourage or discourage people.

Heard a lot of good things about Big Al's. Nor played one though.
You have this listed as HH, as it's got just the one humbucker isn't this a H?
I should've said in the add, with prior arrangement I'm happy for people to come see and play it.

Hey blinkly so in my infinite tiredness I've just written it as I remember it discribed... maybe as a humbucker has two rows... I'll edit it. Yea the 5 is like a string ray but with other electrics and snazzy orange body.
they are really nice and I regret having to sell.

Hi selling my basses as needs must
it's an unsual bass that's not normally found in this colour inside of the uk. It's in h config but isn't exactly like a sting ray as it has a 4 band eq and passive pick up passthrough more akin to the bongo.
its sexy. It's orange. It's made in America!
if anyone's returning to this add my bass has to go!!! so give me an offer if you're really interested these basses don't turn up every day.
-
Hi selling two of my music man basses.
JUST WANT TO ADD-the bass is sparkly, it doesn't show up in these photos but it's not just a solid blue, I'll try to take some more although my camera seems to have stopped focusing.
this is the 4 string 3 single coil configuration. The body is solid mahogany and with the active eq you can get crazy sustain.
It's in very good condition with no scratches or dents.
The Big Al is a very unique bass and ran only for 5 years of production(this is top of my head stuff so not exact) I'm not sure if it could be discribed as rare but they certainly don't pop up all that often in the uk.
willing to look at offers if they are reasonable.

@basselfman Spurred on by using my Bass VI in one of my bands and deciding that the neck really is far too narrow I started this thread which has thrown up some interesting possibilities that might suit your quest for a wide-necked short-scale 6 string bass.
Hey thanks big red looks interesting!
-
Oh I should add. I thought maybe 7 string gitaur pick ups would solve the problem possibly.
-
Thanks big red, I think the 47 may have come from my rusty bullethole?! I might have misread something as I don't have my laptop right now I'm doing everything on my phone.
im also uk but in Germany right now, I found the ibernez SRC6-WNF but I think it's similar to the music man although reviews do say it has a wider profile then the normal vi's. I'm not finding it impossible to play on the rev it just seems to be there must be something that is better suited. I wonder if I should just get a 6 sting bass and call it a day but I'll look into the custom route as per your instruction.
dont worry about this thread I'm happy for it to die, your response was very informative and helpful so I'm not sure what someone else will add.
thanks!

So wasn't sure where to put this, I want a bass 6 with a 52mm nut width to match the feel of a classical gitaur. The only thing that comes close is the music man silhouette bass, I've not played one yet but it's at about 47mm so not "perfect"
ive never thought about getting a custom instrument. Does it cost too much to be practical? And lastly is there an easier solution?
I have a revelation bass vi but the string spacing is very small.
