Hey UKLooney, that looks really neat - what exactly is it?

Very Mike Kerr, UKLooney! You found the humbucker you were looking for then, where did you get it in the end, The Creamery?

I've got a couple of 'modded' pups on order from Jamie @ the Creamery, turns out he did some work on Mike's basses. I found the one in this on ebay, from a member here, which originaly came from a starcaster.

That looks great, really intrigued to hear how that sounds! Nice work!

I'll try and remember to post a quick video when I'm back from holiday.
Sounds way more awesome than I had originally hoped.

  4. Started as a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar SS Bass. Replaced the pickups with a Fender wide range humbucker, and a Gretsch 2202 bass humbucker. Also changed out hardware for a Fender high mass bridge and Fender modern player tuners. And a new pickguard from Sims custom shop.

Hope you like the pics :)

  5. Got this back from Fender.

    Hi,

Unfortunately not. However, I do see that they come up from time to time on Ebay and Reverb.com. My apologies. I wish that we had them available for sale.

  6. Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I had looked on both the Creamery and Oil City sites, but couldn't (still can't) find anything similar. I'm guessing they might do a custom order? The cans might be a problem?

I've not contacted fender, though I've had a good look through their parts list and also on their site with no luck. I'll probably drop them an email.

As for going vintage, I'm really looking for a shiney new modern pickup.
