I live in Denmark visit London regularly, and judging from my last trip, Denmark St. currently heavily under-prioritises basses. I know of the Bass Merchant up in Camden, which I usually stop by, but they currently do not have what I am looking for (MM Sterling 4H w. maple, Fender Jazz Elite w. ebony).

Any other shops left in London that have a serious bass department I should check out when I go in a week? I miss the Wapping Bass Centre

I am actually something of a Jazz Bass geek and have several passive traditional ones, so I would not mind this one sounding totally different.

I have a modified, partly unoriginal Fender Jazz from '71, and I am not really happy with the sound of it. It is medium-heavy ash + maple board and baseball bat neck.

The electronics are '75 Fender Jazz reissues paired with a Glockenklang 2-band preamp. As soon as I turn up the treble just a tad, the sound gets very thin, and I need to apply a bass boost at all times to make it sound decent to begin with.

By chance, I have just acquired a pair of Bartolini - 57J1 L/S. Since these are humbuckers they should have a darker sound which might suit the inherent qualities of this rather thin-sounding bass and make it come alive. There wouldn't be any problem pairing these pickups with the Glockenklag electronics, would there?

I ended up using the beard trimmer attachment on my old backup shaver.

I ended up using all suggested techniques and I am very happy with the result. Thanks for helping

A more thorough vacuum cleaning today yielded no visible result. But it looks much, much better now after me using half a lint roller on it.

At first, I thought mrtcat was joking, but the felt is actually fairly long-haired in places so a crew cut doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. It will be the last step, however. Next up: Rubber gloves and gaffa.

Going to hear Level 42 live in Aalborg in an hour or so, and on a whim today I bought a Trace Elliot 4x8 which I can pair with my ancient AH130.

The cabinet is one of the felt covered ones. There may be a better term for it than felt, though. I am not a native speaker. In any case, this felt is covered by an extra layer of various hair types of different origin. I really need to clean it as it looks horrible. My vacuum cleaner can't do it as those pesky hairs really stick to the felt. I'll try a lint roller for clothes tomorrow but I'm not too optimistic about its chances.

Any other suggestions? 

What would the price be, and would you ship it to Denmark?

Paid for a pedal on a Thursday. Daniel shipped it Friday and I had it Monday - in Denmark. Besides the fast shipping, packaging was also good.

Would you ship it to Denmark? I would of course cover the extra shipping costs.

I bought a bass from Si which he packaged very well and sent to me in Denmark (and I got a great shipping rate to boot). Working out the deal and fixing the international payment took a few days during which communications were smooth throughout. Highly recommended.

Before I even start to consider this one: Would you ship it to Denmark? And does it come with the original case?
