Yeah I should have mentioned that they come with the pots and cables needed.

if someone buys the pair of pickups together, it'll be 2 volume, 1 tone, battery clip and output jack or if it's just one pick up, it'll be 1 volume with the rest of the stuff.

Got an EMG MM CS-X pick up from a project bass that i've parted out. Pick up has been used for light studio work and has no marks on it. These are the EMG music man replacement pick ups but they're the X series of those so they have the extra headroom. Great sounding pick up!

£50 or will trade one for an MXR Phase 90. It cost me £90 each new but I don't have the box for it so dropping the price and need it gone.

Postage will be an extra £6 on next day delivery.

If I could somehow pick these up then I'd snap the 2 cabs out of your hands for definite but as it is, getting them from York to Milton Keynes may be a bit of a pain!

I saw them on the last "Farewell" tour (the 13 album tour cycle) and they were good, nothing that blew me out of the water. Glad to say I've seen them but I wasn't going to pay what they were charging for this tour again. Just hoping Ozz gets Zakk back and does a new solo album or tour as I'm yet to see him on tour. I like Gus G but y'know, he's not Zakk...

Cheers dude! Found the internal trim pot and adjusted it to zero. Turns out it was on full! All sorted and my gripe all gone. Pedal sounds great and cuts off perfectly!

I've got a Dunlop Bass Wah on my pedal board which i love but I'm finding the release, or bypass (however or whatever it's called) to be a bit long. When i take my foot off of the wah, it returns to normal but the wah remains active for about a second which is really inconvenient and completely sucks out my tone. This is especially bad as my tone is very bright and driven so it just sounds like a horrible fuzz for a second or two. Is there a way that I can set the pedal so it cuts off immediately or is this a common issue with the dunlop wahs? If the latter, i'll be selling it and getting a Morley!

Hey dude,

Any 5 string soap bars would work on this bass. You've mentioned the SSB-4 set but they'd be the wrong size, you'd want the SSB-5 set if you went for those ones. any EMG 40 pick ups (40DC, 40P, 40J, 40CS) would do the job too.

I've had a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP recording interface for about 3 years now which just stays on my desk plugged in to my mac via a FireWire cable. Always has done. 2 night ago, i plugged in some headphones to do some silent mixing and not disturb my family but the sound came out like it was under water (ha ha, i'm not that bad at recording) and then the right headphone out just stopped working.

I shut everything down, removed the cables from the Mac and plugged them back in then fired up my computer. The Focusrite powered up but the FireWire light didn't come on. This exact thing happened before and I had to send it back to Focusrite, they found that the FireWire port had broke and replaced it (for free). I've written to them about it happening again but not had a reply so I'm thinking i need a new interface now.

Can anyone on here recommend a recording interface for £150 max (including 2nd hand) whether it be firewire or USB connected? I need to get a new one kinda soonish as I have a few demos I need to record for an upcoming project.

Hey dude, for my 2 pennies worth, i use the B7K Darkglass and it can do all range of tones. My set up is fairly similar to yours too in the fact i use Ampeg SVT4x10 cabs and an Ernie Ball Stingray bass (Hartke 3500 head but close enough) and yeah, can honestly say it's a great pedal with a wide variation on it. Also, I tend to jam a lot of ZZ Top with a friend and can definitely get that fuzzy Dusty Hill tone from it! So that's my recommendation anyway.

Ahhh i love that pedal, wish I still had my old one too so i could run it with the B7K

Use the correct colour nail varnish. I swear by it to repair dings in guitars. Get a good colour match and you're on to a winner. Used to use it all the time to fix dings and dents on my old bands guitarist's Flying V!

Long scale Rotosound Swing Bass string or D'addario Nickels should do the trick. That's what I used on a reverse headstock LTD Phoenix 204

Just replaced the original 2 band EQ in my 2010 Stingray so i'm sticking it up for sale

as said, it's a 2 band EQ. Not much more to say there. i'll include the knobs, pot spacers, a battery clip and the original output jack for it (new EQ came with a pre-wired output jack). Only replaced it as I wanted a mid control. Perfect budget upgrade for something like your OLPs, Subs, Ray34s or even to go in a proper 'Ray if you want to restore it to original or go for a 2 band!

Looking for £50 plus postage.

I've just bought an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray bass. Got it for such a steal that I couldn't complain but I had a look at the electronics on it and have a few gripes about the way they're made.

Firstly, can anyone tell me if the 2 band EQ is boost only or boost and cut? If it's boost only then fair enough and my first gripe is nulled but if it's boost and cut then I'm really bugged at the fact the pots don't have a centre detent. Next up is the output jack. Doubt I need to say anything here apart from plastic jack... really Musicman? Plastic? No!

Lastly, I think they should have put a series/parralel/coil split on the Stingray as well as the Sterling, having played (and currently borrowing) a friends Sterling, the 3 band EQ and S/P/CS 3 way switch just adds so many cool tonal options.

So, here are my questions...

1: Can I change the output jack to a Switchcraft Stereo one? The pre amp board has 3 wires coming off it, 1 red, 1 white and 1 black so I don't know which would go to what...

2: Is there a way to mod the pick up to add in a S/P/CS 3 way switch? (I'd just add a DPDT ON/ON/ON switch to the control plate for the switching)

3: If the pre amp is boost and cut, would it be worth trying to change the pots to centre detent ones and does any one what type of pots (resistance value and linear or log taper) they use for it?

Apart from those small issues, I love the bass to pieces. It's so nice to play and i'm really happy with it but with a bass that is the price they are new, these just seem like really poor finishing touches. Any help would be appreciated

Sorry, who are SFX? I just googled it and got a Si-Fi magazine haha!

And the overdrive is the Darkglass B7K but I wanted to use the parallel out to go to an EQ pedal that's essentially acting like a high pass filter and only allowing the low end through to really fill out the sound. On it's own it does sound great as said, i just wanted to add back some of those lows.
