  1. After a lot of consideration I’ve decided to sell the Fodera. It’s been a tricky decision but I now haven’t used it for almost a year and it’s going to waste in a case. I blame the ACG J-Type 5-string I bought from lowregisterhead on this site back in 2018, which both corrupted and converted  me to 5 string.

As you can see from the photos the bass is in great condition and came to me from Mark at Bass Direct set up with Wooten light gauge strings. I really can’t find a mark on the body. There are three tiny marks on the neck, none of which can be felt as you play and small enough that I couldn’t capture them with the camera. Two tiny marks on the headstock that were there when I bought the bass and that I did manage to capture... and that’s about it. The rest is as standard, well as much as you could call a Fodera standard.

No trades I’m afraid. Sale only.

Collection only from Uxbridge, or I can supply a hard case if the buyer would like to organise shipping from their end.

20 March - Now reduced to £2750. Any takers...?

  2. Alan Cringean 5-string J Type bass. Bought on basschat last Feb from lowregisterhead (thanks again for all your help Dave).

    American white ash body

    Wenge/Padauk neck

Has been fitted with a Uni-Pre 4 preamp

    Hipshot hardwear throughout

Asymmetrical neck, which fits the hand beautifully and took me absolutely no getting used to. It just works.

Selling because I’ve been completely corrupted by a 4-string Fodera and this isn’t getting used.

I have a Stagg hard shell case that I’m sure I can come to an agreement about, if needed?

Further details and pictures can be found on the ACG website at http://archive.acguitars.co.uk/portfolio/0078-j-type-5-string/

Collection in person preferred but am happy to package and ship at the buyer’s expense. Please email me before bidding if you will need it shipped though.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

  3. Hi. Three quick questions:

    - Is it still available? if so...
    - Do you have any pics of the buckle rash? If that's not too bad...
    - I know you say collect from Leeds but would there be any chance of you shipping to Huntingdon?

That's Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, not Huntingdon Beach in California sadly

  4. Hi Scott,

Just wanted to send a quick thank you for the excellent communication and service I received from you when buying your Warwick Thumb. Everything was exactly as described, shipped in short order and arrived in perfect condition. Sadly my playing doesn't reach the same heights :-/

While it's everything that I hoped it would be in terms of sound, I'm still not sure about the ergonomics... only time will tell. Nevertheless, thanks for everything, it was very much appreciated!

    All the best, Dan
