I have a deko jazz with fret dots entirely in the rosewood but my deko P has them overlapping. I hadn't even noticed the difference until you mentioned yours!! Either way, a minor detail!

I agree. Cannot find anything else wrong. Still it might be revealed after I play with it some more. -
I think I've found the problem - see the attached photo. Side fret dots should be entirely on the rosewood according to a photo on Thomann's site - but on my bass they are overlapping the maple. Could this really be the reason for 'deko' status?

I received the lefty deko PB-20 this morning. Not much wrong with it as far as I can tell. Neck was a straight as bejaysus...needed a half turn of truss rod to make it playable. A few frets at the higher end are uneven but nothing too serious. I'm getting a very strong high overtone on the open D - not sure what's causing that - perhaps a nut slot issue?

Hi new guy here. I'm the fellow who bought the lefty P-Bass. This thread was instrumental in convincing me it was worth taking a punt on a deko so thanks for that folks!
I already have a few Harley Benton guitars and I also recently received and returned a JB-75 (new stock)..so waiting on the replacement for that too (I was in two minds about returning it as it was so nice but it had a finish blemish and a high fret and they weren't inclined to give me a few bob credit so back it went).

I wonder do Thomann automatically classify returned B-Stocks as Dekos? e.g - It's been returned twice..probably something wrong with it but not worth spending the time to find out so just sell it for a fraction of the regular price. That doesn't explain the occasional price variation though.
