1. LOL

Right it's put together in a way to stop you getting the circuit board out without desoldering the input/output jacks completely off the board (bloody cowbags).

So put it all back together and had a play with all of the dials and the upshot is the presence pot is the problem... with it completely backed off the unit works ok. I need to find out if it can be replaced but I'm guessing the unit will be made in china or somewhere like that

As some of you may have noticed I have had my PJB 24b up for sale for a while now and hardly any interest has been shown so I am going to have the cab made into 3 combos, keep one for myself and put the other 2 up for sale.

My idea is to have them professionally made almost exactly as the PJB 8B but with a 4u rack housing built into the top of it so you can house pretty much whatever you want into it and have an 800W 4ohm cab underneath it using the PJB PIRANHA TYPE A 100W 8ohm drivers which should be sufficient for most amps.

  3. Thanks for all your replies and encouragement...

I have sold the Bongo and am looking for a trade on the PJB24B

Here is my thought process... Whilst in the band I never had time to practice the basics because of continuous learning schedule of new songs and staying practised on the current gig list. I have been honest with myself and realised that I need to improve my skills as a bass player, I have always been able to read treble clef to a very good standard through nearly 30 years of playing in brass bands but my bass clef reading has never beeen up to scratch, also never started with the basics on bass guitar as I did with brass ( I can sight read and transpose on the fly with a euphonium sat on my lap)

Looking for a nice 4 string and a good tutor in North Yorks or Humberside area... Now where did I chuck that towel?

  4. It's been 6 months since I got shelved by my old band and nothing since. not even an audition so it's time to get rid of all the gear. Once its all gone I might get myself something cheap to plonk about on...

Will put a post or two up in the For Sale section tonight with prices and photos

Here's some of the stuff that will be available in case anyone is keen. Bongo 5HH, PJB24B, Peavey 1200 power amp, 2x Peavey Mk VI amps, Peavey 4x10 TXF, Peavey 1516e megabass cab, AKG Bug wireless, BTMP3 bass trainer, Roland Basscube and the contents of my gig bag which I will list later.

    Thanks for looking
