  1. Hi folks,

I am selling this nite Yamaha trb 1005j.

I bought it this year about 6 months ago with the purpose of transform it in a lighter passive bass, but only after i found out that it would be very expensive, so I've dropping out of the project and decided to sell.

The bass has been hanging on my wall since and have only done one recording with it. So it is basically the same as going on a shop and choose the bass deom the wall.

    Yamaha trb 1005j piano black.

I've done a setup with low action.

Goes with the original papers and tools. IMG_20220811_113931.thumb.jpg.a12decb5bd02e46943965c966780d18a.jpgIMG_20220811_113939.thumb.jpg.67e1493d905c30628b197c7464eaa84b.jpgIMG_20220811_113948.thumb.jpg.ccfe061098826a14d1f9fa6099445c57.jpgIMG_20220811_113948.thumb.jpg.ccfe061098826a14d1f9fa6099445c57.jpgIMG_20220811_113956.thumb.jpg.e746ffa0695d5af27419569e30b9b867.jpgIMG_20220811_114011.thumb.jpg.81362e41f15f3df2175e45b3f6c4b855.jpgIMG_20220811_114024.thumb.jpg.36a51c54aa4b57bffa49c6c9baaecd4f.jpgIMG_20220811_114108.thumb.jpg.0996245be78fe716fb75855683f17d7e.jpgIMG_20220811_114101.thumb.jpg.609d240e5a2fd443dab7d9e3ed23dee0.jpgIMG_20220811_114106.thumb.jpg.a08a13ca152b12a04f2d41b7c0e65d3d.jpgIMG_20220812_083525.thumb.jpg.02a4980a0966984955e5f1106e0cbb7b.jpg

None of the places I play, and very few places I'm every likely to play have house mix or monitors. It's all old school bring your own gear here. And as I'm married to the singer, I have no choice but to lug around a P.A, whether I like it or not.

    😕😬

    Sorry.. You'r done 💥

  3. Get a light bass, like a steinberger, an Aguilar Tone Hammer and just plug into the house mix and use their stage monitors. That may help with the bummer of the gear and you'll a lot more time for pints 😁🍻

  4. Sold

For sale this gorgeous baby Yamaha BBNE2.

    It is in superb condition.

No scratches or dings or anything.

This is my 2nd bbne2 and I got this directly from Yamaha last October (I am a yamaha endorser)

The condition of this bass is the same as a new one taking a brand new from a shop's wall.

The bass it self need no introduction..

It's the signature of the great Nathan East, it's made in Japan. Top of the line from Yamaha. The construction is superb. Can play really well with a extremely low action. Very versatile.

The case was never used and the bass did only a few studio sessions.

Neckthru, ebony fingerboard, stack humbuckers, monorail bridge, active eq, mid cut (Nathan magic knob), mother of pearl.

    No trades. IMG_20220406_153239.thumb.jpg.1a43f363085fa97957f98d92f1e2001a.jpgIMG_20220406_153231.thumb.jpg.9197a42e7aaf15d3dbc089d3b4d0c253.jpgIMG_20220406_153150.thumb.jpg.db0dda4de77178e1779ccb0147645eee.jpgIMG_20220406_153203.thumb.jpg.d00e825d37d98b354e64c0aa4eb0f923.jpgIMG_20220406_153210.thumb.jpg.f94b55e620a5296e912f1f36e1658f5a.jpgIMG_20220406_153213.thumb.jpg.fbd9e41ddd742d7c96f85a50d801ee6f.jpgIMG_20220406_153306.thumb.jpg.c3bb66d1a8d0a9c5a2abd9e20c257a38.jpgIMG_20220406_153320.thumb.jpg.a9614f7be830242d87b3fbb648c42aba.jpgIMG_20220406_153326.thumb.jpg.5505338eaefc45ad908f520a0d7da03f.jpg

  5. SOLD

    Fodera

    Serial num: MG52885N
    Buckeye top
    Walnut

    Maple neck

    Neckthru construction
    Birdseye maple fretboard
    5 strings
    34' scale

    26 frets
    19.5 mm string space
    Match headstock
    Match pickup covers
    Mike pope preamp
    Ducan dual coils pickup
    B xtended
    Ramp

    Painted grain

    Original case

    Mint condition
    10,8 pounds (4.9 kg)

It is a wonderful bass, supreme construction and dream playability.
The sound is clean and woody and between series/ parallel, active /passive pickups and the active eq, I would say that this one can cover all.
The neck pickup can sound very pbass and the bridge cuts through all.
The extremely fast slim neck, plus the Birdseye maple fingerboard, makes it "too" easy to play. The action can go ridiculous low and still allows going heavy on the right hand.
Despite the 10,8 pounds (4,9kg), the balance is so good that i don't feel like it is heavier than my BBNE2 (that is about to go to the market as well)

The bass is in Mint condition. As a wonderfull wood grain. And the only scratch is at the bottom. There's also a tiny mark on the the top near the volume knob that it is not a scratch on the veneer, so i would say that it is something to do with the aging. Apart from that the bass its in perfect conditions and it plays amazing.

Will go with the original case.

I bought it, here at basschat last year, and as you can imagine it's not easy to let it go, but since there I've only used twice on studio and nothing else. Being my self a Yamaha artist 99% of the times i go with a Yamaha bass, but to be honest I am getting to that fase in life that all i ear in my head is a 4 string pbass. I know that, a few years ago i would rather only have this one on my quiver, but my ears and heart are keep pointing to the pbass. So this is the only reason why i'm selling this beauty.

I can ship all over the world, but it will be at buyers costs. Theres a MRW office near by, and it is a company that i trust.

Also, can meet near Spanish border or even better, I can meet or pick the buyer at the Lisbon airport in order to facilitate the business. Anything else maybe possible, it is just a case of possible ideas.

This can mean different things to different people, but here's what I would consider: I would go very basic, and go for passive Jazz Bass pickups and a simple 2-band EQ plus a passive tone control to roll off sharp highs. I would look closely at the center frequencies of the EQ controls though. Something like an Aguilar OBP-1 has the bass pot centered at 40 Hz and I hate it, because it only boosts the sub lows and adds low-end rumble but also a lot of mud. I have an OBP-3 in a custom 5-string and it's a great pre, but I rarely touch the bass control for that reason. I quite like the MEC preamp in my Warwicks because the bass control is centered at 100 Hz with a fairly broad range, and also adds a slight bit of low mids and punch. It works well to add warmth and punch for a great slap tone. That bass boost plus a treble roll off gives a huge range of tones, and will get you all the traditional Jazz Bass tones plus a modern active slap tone and everything in between.

    Thks!

    That helped.

Single are on top of the list, and also a tone control.

I probably will start running it passive with a couple of J's

  7. Hi!

I really like Yamaha's basses, actually i am endorsed by Yamaha.

I love the measures /comfort /constriction on trb's. I had and still have many trb's, bb's and the bbne2 is my main bass right now.

    This is a project.

    Actually 2 projects.

The first is for my trb 1004j that i made it on fretles but it's needing more growling and I'm thinking about running it passive, just not sure about J/J or P/J.

Second project is for a fretted 1005j that I would like it to sound not so mid /treble and also give it a killer slap sound.

I already have and play a fender jazz, but i rather the trb radius and overall feel.

I'm not familiar to the various on board pre-amps out there, and that 's the reason for this post.

I've read that John East works fine but never tried out, and I was wheeling to ear more experiences.

  8. Hi!

Does anyone had modified the TRB 1005J?

I was wondering how it would go with some single coils jazz bass type pickups..

Passive, New preamp, other pickups, jazz, precision, anything..

    Please, tell me your experiences.

    Regards,

    Nuno
