I feel so bad for the gentleman in France who was in the process of buying . Not until today have I had a few hours to patiently sit down with both of my basses (The newly acquired Zon VB-4 and the thumb) and do a side by side comparison in my amp , pluging one and then the other, seeing what each excells at and trying to emulate eachother, and they are just too different and I just can't get close to that growly high-mid woody character I get out of the thumb). The grafite neck Zon is much more defined for chordal stuff and is more versatile in sound palette but it's missing out on that special sound. So in the end I have decided to keep it. I don't know if this tone is easily found in other basses, but until I do I wont be ready to part I'm afraid....

I finally made up my mind and got a ZON VB-4 (a mere 3 kg ) from the bassic.ch forum to replace my thumb as my main bass !

Now that that is sorted I just need to sell or I'm also looking to trade the thumb for a fretless 4-5-6 string !

Instruments are tough to sell here in Spain with the economic crisis and all... and I really have my mind set on getting a lighter bass as soon as possible... trades anyone ??

Ive got a 3.7kg Bassline Buster CW 5 in sight. Anyone knows how they compare with my thumb ? how I hate buying without being able to try first !

Thanks for the PMs ! I'm open to trading , preferably looking for 5 or 6 strings , lightweight instruments. Also willing to pay the difference for higher valued instruments !

The bass conserves its original electronics , with EMG pickups. It's in great shape considering it's 25 yrs. old, the previous owner had it as a studio bass and I purchased it 4 years ago to study with. If sanded down a little, body and neck could recover complete smoothness like mint condition. I actually like the feel of the different woods on the back of the neck and how they've matured with time. There's a small nick behind the 7th fret from a fall it must have taken long ago, nothing important though. I've got the action low, neck and frets are fine, no buzzing. Sadly I have back problems and need to find an ultralight instrument so this beast isn't for me.... I just hope I can find something with similar tone... on the looks department nothing comes close ! it's a beautiful handcrafted instrument !
