1. 1978 Fender Precision Bass. Great sounding and playing bass. Professionally set-up. I have owned this for one year in which time it has been in my music room for home playing/recording apart from one gig. A previous owner replaced the pots and output jack with correct Fender parts, the originals are included. I have replaced the scratchplate screws and control knobs, the originals are included, as are the bridge and pickup covers. Approx weight is 5kg, so a reasonably weighty one, but it balances nicely and doesn't feel too heavy when playing. A lovely instrument with 70s vibes in abundance. No truss rod issues. I would prefer payment by Paypal. I will not post this bass, but am happy for collection in person, or to deliver/meet up within 50 miles of HR9. This was a birthday present to myself, but I have not used it as much as I had anticipated and have found a lower priced P, which suits my needs, so would like this to go to a good home. Please ask any questions you have and be patient for replies (I check in a couple of times a day). Can be seen/heard here and in other videos on this channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDe8CelWW54 *Case not included.

2. Pinch harmonics are such a part of Billy's playing, he would have to really concentrate not to play them. There are also specific parts of Mr Big songs which are played as pinch harmonics, but not on the DVD. I think he must have had a definite reason not to play them.

3. My band turned up to one of our regular gigs one night and saw through the window that it was much busier than usual. Before we'd taken a single bit of gear out of the cars, the manager came out, explained there was a wake on in the pub and handed us our full money. We waited 10 mins for the singer to arrive on the tube, gave him his cash and cleared off, with much joking about the songs we could have played (Deeper underground etc).

4. Eczema affected my playing for many years, I seem to have grown out of it to some degree, but I found that vaseline moisturiser (yellow bottle with blue cap) was a big help. You need to apply this very, very often during the day, when watching TV etc. Keep some handy all the time or it won't work as well. Microporous tape is also good stuff for getting you through gigs if you have cracked skin, it will protect your skin and won't affect your playing. At worst I've done gigs with split skin on all fingers, including lengthways from the fingernails on my right hand over the top of the fingertip, I learned to put up with a bit of pain!

5. This is a pretty anoraky question/comment I admit, perhaps that's why it received no response on Mr Big and Racer X forums. I'll try my luck here: Has anyone else noticed that Billy Sheehan doesn't play a single pinch harmonic on the Budokan DVD? (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) This is extremely unusual for him. I suspect he may have been having fingernail problems.

6. I speak English and find that I have occasional problems understanding language used in Bass player magazine. In recent times they seem to increasingly refer to "props" and "the hang". What do they mean?
On the new look of the magazine; larger print = less content. I suppose it's recession friendly!

7. Are there any problems associated with neodynium magnets, which aren't being spoken about? I would have thought that if a way of making cabinets much lighter came along it would be snapped up and introduced by manufacturers across the board, but this hasn't happened, why not?

8. For an easy life, always go with the soundman! If you know that the DI sound straight from the bass is good, then at least you're giving him something good to work with. Your sound will still be your own onstage from your rig and you won't have fallen out with him, so chances are you'll have a decent out front sound.
