Thanks for that review!

Joining this forum has been a real education. So many brands that I have never heard of.
What can anybody tell me about Spector basses they "look" similar to a Warwick in some ways. Are they a totally different animal?
I see online some 80s affiliation with Kramer.
Thanks -
Thanks Evil Dead for your kind offer!

Thanks for all the replies and offers of try outs. I'm near Bath. l'll start looking around and maybe try out a few non-German.
Thanks again. -
Thanks for the replies. Would you folks say the necks model to model are consistent? I know my Fender bass necks pretty well (say, jazz vs. p-bass). Are Warwick necks "fat" like a p-bass or thinner profile like a jazz? I realise this may not be the best comparison . The only reason I asked is I guess I'm looking for a long scale if I want a German made, and will all the help I can get with my kiddie fingers. Thanks for your help.

I'm just starting the search for a secondhand Warwick and would like you know if any of you Warwick fans out there could help me out with some info.
I'm looking for a German made, 4 string, and short scale. Model wise I'm not quite there yet as I imagine that there's only a couple of models they do in a short scale. Money wise, under a grand sterling.
Does anybody have an idea what models I should keep an eye out for? With Warwicks, are the German made basses the only ones to go for (if you can afford it)?
Thanks for your help. -
GAS: I had to look that up. I have that from time to time.

Thanks for the welcome. Here are some snaps. I bought it off someone in Devon about 5 years ago. She had the pickup selector switch replaced with a "mixer knob", this was done at Mansons.
Small scale; fits perfect in a Hiscox guitar case (can't remember what guitar the case is for originally). Great player - easy!

I'm new to the forum. Been playing 35 years; 1st bass a Hagstrom, then a slotted heastock Gibson EB-0 (1969). then lots over the years!
Currently I have an early 90s Jerry Jones, 4 string longhorn in copper and I play it through a Trace Elliot Commando 15 (mid-90s). Pedals: DoD Envelope filter (bought in 1979) and EH Bassballs got at the same time as the DoD.
Favourite bass players: Mike Watt and John Entwistle.
