1.
How much did you pay for the cab?
You could sell the three good ones and put the money towards new speakers to put in to make it a 4 ohm, 1000w beast. 4x16 ohm Eminence @ 250 watts each, wired in paralell.
That'll kick ass!
Evil cab alert!!! :)
only payed £75! thats sounds like a good idea, ill have a look on the sites recommended for prices.

2.
Well, you could replace 2 of the speakers with speakers of 500 ohms resistance each and wire it in paralell to give you 3.93 ohms, but the two replacement speakers would only give you .79 watts each.
that seems to be an easy and cheaper option. will it being 3.93 ohms cause a problem or is it close enough to 4ohms. the replacement speakers would only give me 0.79watts?isnt that pointless

3. guy i bought it off says hes taken it out to check for bad connections, i dont really dare check myself, unless theres an easy step by step guide.i tapped each speaker and 3 made bass drum sound whilst the broken one didnt which he says means its just had it, probably due to it being 7 years old

4. i recently bought an ashdown abm 410t (the older version with celestion speakers) from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=006

however one of the speakers doesnt produce any sound, according to him there appears to be no damage to the speaker cone or magnet though.
he says i need to get a celestion 8ohm 150watt speaker, but i cant seem to find any from uk retailers. would it have to be celestion? or could i use a different 10" speaker? anyone know where and what the best speaker to get would be?

bit of a long shot but would it be possible to turn it into a 4ohm cab?would i have to replace all the speakers?

5.
I'm just encouraged that several different people have remembered this and posted it in answer to this OP.

There's a long way to go but we're winning....
i dont think ill forget in a hurry...

6. You can use any power ouput amp with any power handling cab. If any of these combinations makes bad sounds then turn down and/or stop cranking the bass EQ excessively or damage may occur

and theres my answer, thanks.

edit: ^didnt notice that post

7. ive got a hartke 7000 which is 2x350@4 ohms and 2x240@8ohms.
im currently using a carlsbro 15" which is 400w @ 8ohms therefore only getting 240w.
im also about to add a ashdown abm 410t which is 600 @ 8ohms again only using 240w.
so just wondering is that bad for either my head or the cabs?i always thought it would be worse to overpower a cab but now ive heard underpowering is also risky?
should this set up be a problem?

8. i did consider the ha3500 but with the 4000 going for just 100quid felt no point getting 3500 for more money...but then i thought the same about the 7000! and now the trace elliot head in this listing is going for 100quid http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRACE-ELLIOT-350-WAT...1QQcmdZViewItem but cant find anything on the internet about series 6, they any good?or more to the point better than the hartke?
