By using that not so scientific method of weighing myself with and without the bass, I make it 4.1 kg (or 9.03 lbs in old money).
Hope that helps....
Thanks Nik, much appreciated

Do you know the weight please Nick and are there any issues with neck diving? Cheers

What is weight please?

Thank you Andy for buying the SWB bass, I really appreciate actually having a proper chat about the bass before you decided to go for it and hopefully it has found the right new home. An absolute pleasure to deal with, maybe catch you out there sometime.
Have a good one

I really like RMI basses and I still own 2 of them. Mark Ransay designs great basses and this one is a bargain so GLWTS
Thank you. His work is new to me but he is obviously an experienced player and that really shows in the little details in his designs, the pure ease of the neck playability, the upper access, the balance and his attention to the build quality...I'm talking myself into keeping this....

Sale Pending - Off to the West Country

Up for sale is my Scott Whitley SWB-1, made in Ash, passive electronics, short scale 30.5", weighing in at just 7.4lbs (super light). It is number 46 of the signature range.
Comes complete with the original lightweight hard case including the key. GHS strings.
24 frets, rosewood board, twin jazz style pickups, heavy duty bridge, three way selector, one volume, one tone.
I recently purchased this short scale from Shantijoe but unfortunately the scale length isn't working for me which is a real shame because it's a great bass. The weight is brilliant, it's so light and the neck has a fast low action, double octave. The slanted jazz pickups in conjunction with pots that actually work offer a great range of tones too. I'm really glad I got a chance to try the bass, very impressed. There is a Youtube video by Scott talking about this range which is worth checking out for the tones etc, link below.
Condition wise, very good, some light play marks on the back when you hold it up to the light. Some light marks on the case top too.
I'm based in Baldock, North Herts and collection or local-ish meet up would be preferable. When Joe sent the bass down, he covered the case in cardboard which I still have so can do the same if you would like to arrange your own courier. Many thanks

Thank you. I think this early Vintage Modified line will be favourably viewed in years to come

Thanks for checking the listing. This is my RMI Retrocat, which unfortunately is not getting used and is just living in a case, so hopefully someone can keep her being played on a regular basis.
I really like the headstock design, something different and the matching body finish really works. The neck profile is thin (D) and is really really playable, fast, with easy access to the higher frets. A good range of tones from the PJ configuration and matching black hardware completes the look.
It weighs in at a very comfy 8.6 lbs (3.9kgs) and balances very well on the strap. There are a few light marks on the body, some play swirls behind the upper horn and some pick marks and swirls on the pickguard, but overall, a very tidy bass, wearing new flats.
I'm based in North Hertfordshire and ideally this would be collection only or a near meet up as I don't have a hard case or suitable boxes for shipping.
Many thanks
The spec is as follows:
Crafted in Korea
Thin profile neck
Extended fret range with a strong, scalloped neck joint for comfortable access to the upper register
Master volume with pan pot for easier tonal blending

5-way reinforced bolt-on maple neck
34" scale
22 medium jumbo 2.8mm gauge frets
Graphite nut width: 38mm
Passive controls - Volume, balance, tone
Wilkinson single coil jazz pickups

Side dot markers
Weight - 3.9Kg

Up for sale is my Squier Vintage Modified Jazz, made in Indonesia 2011, in virtually unplayed excellent condition.
Still wearing it's original strings, the bass has been kept cased, free from dust all it's life, it looks brand new.
The Duncan Designed pickups offer great classic Jazz tones, two volumes and a tone. The weight is 9.7lbs. Plays really well, factory settup.
There are four marks I can find which are, a tiny indent on the neck behind the 1st fret D string, some light scratching on the neck plate, a 4cm mark below the lower strap button and slight rest marks on the edge behind the lower button.
I would prefer collection or handover from North Hertfordshire as I don't have a hard case or suitable packaging, sorry about that. Happy to meet a little way out if that helps.
If I had the space I would keep the jazz, purely as a really clean example of these basses from that year and the tone of those pickups , which I really like.
Please feel free to ask any questions, many thanks

Due to worsening arthritis in my hands I have decided to part with my remaining long scales.
Here is a Washburn XB-400, 34"scale, made in Korea mid 90's. It has 941 and 943 Washburn humbucker style pickups, active eq, 24 fret with full upper neck access
A very comfortable and playable neck, hi mass bridge and Grover tuners (Buzz feiten tuning system)
The weight is 8.6lbs
The overall condition is very good, there are some odd marks and play swirls mainly on the back but it has seen minimal use.
It will also require some new strings
I bought the bass a while back on a whim but it has been in it's gig bag unplayed ever since so time for it to find a new home and be played again.
I am based in North Hertfordshire and collection or local meet up is preferred but could also ship in the UK for £25. I don't have a dedicated cardboard box but the bass will be well packed, thanks
