  1. Gallien Krueger MB500 bass amp for sale, £260 collection or £270 posted.

Good working order, no problems, this is a very compact 500W amp head with an awesome sound. Only selling due to band splitting and a move to acoustic music. Comes with mains lead and speaker cable.

  2. Tech21 Sansamp RBI rack mount bass pre-amp for sale £180 collected or £190 posted.

Perfect condition, fully working order, original packaging, UK mains power, only selling due to the band splitting and now I just want to go acoustic. It is the best pre-amp I have ever used and gives a great depth of tone to any bass sound.

  4. Hi all,
I have an 80's Fender Jazz Bass Special, I have owned from it new and the frets are looking quite worn now, I have tried to include a photo. The question is - do I need to fully re-fret the bass, or would a fret-dress work?
Either option, any advice before I go down this route, as this is my pride and joy, the intonation is still pretty good and it plays ok, apart from it being very prone to fret clank which is probably my heavy handed technique - or will new frets help to reduce the clank?
    Regards
    Pete

  6. Thanks for your thoughts on this - I will not be dashing out to buy a Limiter, firstly just work on my technique, I don't like too much compression so I doubt I will like limiting. BTW I used my new GK MB500 and MBE210 last night with the band, cranked up quite high, and I noticed my heavy handed approach seems to get naturally compressed by the GK anyway, so it's all good for jamming, I just need to tweek my style for recording. Cheers- Pete

  7. During a recent recording I realised that I occasionally get a massive spike - or clank as I've heard it described. I am sure it's a combination of my playing style and bass (Fender Jazz Special from '89). It never really bothered me until I heard it recorded and saw the size of the spike on the screen. My action is fairly high, playing style - finger picking, a bit John Paul Jones/Entwistle, but it's difficult to change my style. So - would I benifit from a Limiter - if so what type is best? Cheers Pete
