  2. Thanks guys, plenty of food for thought! never considered SWR, Markbass Mesa or Berg. Will have to check them out!

It seems most of you liked the Ampeg, and they seem to have the lower resale price.

    Cheers!

  3. I'm considering getting a 610 cab, and will be upgrading my head (Laney RB9) soon too. Maybe the Ampeg SVT610 or Ashdown ABM 610. I've heard good things and bad things about both. Any users here? Should I consider any other brands? Probably will be buying used. Right now I'm playing rock, mostly studio sessions.

    Thanks

  4. So Ill be running my own session this month where I will be tracking some bass. I will be recording through my Laney RB410 and RB115 cabs, both of which will be mic'd using separate microphones. There will also be a di track.

I've always wondered what would give the best sound in the final mix; using only one of the cabs or blending the two, given that they are different sized speakers and therefore will have different voicings. Will there be any inherent phase issues regardless of what i do with the microphones or anything that I need to worry about?

    Cheers

    Dan

  5. Hi Nick

I really like mine, I run it straight into my amp (which has everything set to 12 o"clock so its basically just being used as a power amp) and I use the pedal as a preamp. When its turned off my amp sounds so boring its unbelievable. Great range of tones, can be really aggressive or nice and mellow, the only issue is it doesn't have an actual mid control and you have to use the bass and treble for that, so if you want more mids, you have to turn the bass and treble down. Other than that its great, really like it!

Is yours the silver one? Mine is black and has 3 footswitches for presets.

  6. Hi guys!

Im Dan, 20, living in London when I'm not at Uni. Im studying Music Production at Leeds College of Music. Ive been playing bass for 10 years now (HALF MY LIFE?!) and I dabble in guitar too. I play rock mostly, but Ill listen to everything from Joze Gonzales to The Dillinger Escape Plan.

Really looking to establish myself as a producer and a session bassist.

    This is my gear list;
    Fender American Deluxe Jazz
    Musicman SUB

    Boss TU-2
    EHX Big Muff
    Blackstar HT-Distx
Boss LS-2 (to blend the Muff or Blackstar with Clean signal)
    Sansamp Bass Driver Programmable DI

    Laney RB9
    Laney 4x10
    Laney 1x15

    Thats it mostly, cheers!
