I'd just like to know people's views on this pedal please. It seems like the business.
I've read on a few forums that folks have had an issue with white noise with these pedals. Has anyone had any similar problems?
Do you reckon it's worth the price?
Many thanks

Nice one! Thanks Lozz - I've seen one at Andertons for £219. Seems an Ok price.

Does the paradriver give the warm tubey type sounds too. I'm really after that but with the option of cranking it up occesionally to a JJ type sound. I also like that the paradriver is useful for guitar and acoustice as I intend to record with those too.
It's over budget but i'm hearing good things about the Darkglass Vintage Ultra V2. Is is worth the hike in price though, anyone?

It’s what I use and my tone is somewhere between JJ, Lemmy and Duff McKagan. They’re a bit over £200 but buying from overseas, even with shipping and import duty should be cheaper than what they retail for here. It’s the one but of kit that is essential to my sound, wouldn’t be without it.

There are some Zoom emulations of the BDDI: look at B1on (£39), MS-60B (£78), and B3n (£127).
I've tried some Zoom stuff but not for me. Thanks very much for the advice though

Can i i ask what the Tech 21 BSDR SansAmp Bass Driver DI V2 is? I assumed it could be the BDDI but then the reference to a smaller version threw me.
EDIT. Ok so its the BDDI. Never seen it called that before other than at GAK. I love mine, but have to agree its not quite ideal for the JJB tone, at least not on its own.
I'd suggest the VTBass, its a lot livelier. I used to love playing the intro to Peaches using that.
Yeah, GAK is where I saw it. I use A GK 400 RB at the moment ( and for the last 20+ years ! ). May be changing that in the next year or two.
Thanks for the heads up on the VTBass I'll take a look.

Thanks Lozz, I'll check it out. There does seem to be a lot of overlap with many of the Tech 21 pedals.

Hi, I'm looking at getting one of these, I had the smaller version, can't remember exactly what it's called now, which I really liked except it burnt out on me.
I'm looking at under £200 preferably. I'm after a tight, punchy, gutsy sometimes JJB snarly type sound. (aren't we all ) Primarily for recording at the moment.
Anyone one know of anything else out there I could be looking at, please?
Thanks.

Thanks lurksalot
There is no function to set pre or post effects
The DI has been used in a live situation without any difficulty - there just seems to be a huge disparity between live and recorded sound
-
Thanks Kiwi I will give it a go - I have probably not been too clear with the post title - the signal is strong enough bit the actual sound is very thin and weedy!
Can post titles be edited? -
Hi
I am due to do some more recording with my band and Im coming up against the same usual difficulty - whenever my bass is recorded through the DI from my GK rb 400 to the desk the result is a very thin weedy deadish sound
Live, my sound is very punchy and aggressive and recording it sounds nothing at all like it should
So, I was wondering if there is anything I could do about it ?
I am thinking around going 50-50 mic and DI but I am not sure what mic to use?
Also would I be right in thinking I may need a DI box to help the signal - and would the Sansamp Bass Driver be something I could do with?
Questions questions! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you
