  1. So guys basically I'm making a project P bass. And now I'm looking to buy a neck. I'm going with a Hosco hnk32 which is apparently made in the same factory as the allparts stuff. The cheapest I've found the neck is on a website in Sweden called gitarrdelar.se:-

    Neck is SEK 1350
    Shipping is SEK 185

So Total is SEK 1535 converted into pounds is £136.

What sort of other fee's, tax etc can I expect to pay? The exact same neck is available from wdmusic but it's £185 should I just pay the £50 more. I'm trying to be as tight on budget as possible!

    Any advice is greatly appreciated

  2. I'm trying to find out if the weights are quite similar across the board. I picked up a right handed Vm 4 string in black and it was around 7.35lbs which is great for me (shoulder injury) but I need it in left handed.

Having only seen this one in the flesh I was wondering if people could give some of their weights of there vm jazz basses before I buy?

I know the wood is soft maple but when I msg'd fender they couldn't give any weights but just said the left would be the same as the right.

    Thanks

  3. I'm thinking of starting my own project P bass and I'm currently in the process of sourcing/researching.

I'm new to the whole "make your own bass" thing but I've got a friend who made his own strat which came out awesome.

I'm looking to go for 62 vibe/Pino customshop in nitro Olympic white.

Read a lot about Mighty Mite necks good and bad and saw that bluebass320 on eBay gets them in stock for reasonable prices from time to time. I also asked axesrus about MM Bass necks but said it wasn't cost effective to get them in which is totally understandable but then he suggested a brand called Hosco?

Anyone had any experience with them? It's hard to find stuff on the uk but they are made in Japan, apparently in the same place as the allparts necks are made.

There is a place in Sweden that sells for around £112.
I like how the trussrod adjustment is at the heel on the HNK-32, because I wanna do a matching headstock
Any info would good as I really wanna get a good neck

  4. I'm looking to do a matching headstock on my jazz bass. It's an Olympic white polyurethane finish. I know Vauxhall do a colour called Olympic white but I was wondering if any one had experience with poly Olympic white colours? I know northwest has nitro in Olympic but wouldn't this yellow at a different rate to the body? Or am I making that up?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I've searched far and wide for anyone working with poly paint.

  6. Hey Guys,

Im relatively new round these parts but I was wondering if anyone had any Vintage EST96 (ray copy) bass tuners lying round. I want to get it up and running again so I can get some flats on it.

I snapped one of mine clean off while in transit.

I'm probably being a cheapskate and I should just buy some new tuners but the other 3 are fine. The model was from around 2002/03.

I got in touch with JHS (excellent customer service BTW) they actually sent me out a replacement tuner part for free but they have changed the style a few times over the years and it didnt fit.

Any help/wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
