  1. Just got an ibanez gwb35 and am not happy with the preamp (noisy) and would like to try the bass as passive. I found a wiring diagram but but sure how I'd remove it out the circuit?

    Thanks

  2. its very rare that i dont play bass each day. i've had multiple operations on my wrist so i need to make sure that i keep doing my warmup/exercises so i dont get any issues but normally i'll play certain exercises and work on new songs or sections for the band

so i can fit the time in between work and everything else i get up early to play with headphones in each morning (5:50am early)

  3. Low frequency fracas for King Witch.

We're an Edinburgh based metal band ranging from old school metal and doom. Think Sabbath, Candlemass with high on fire all mixed in with powerful female vocals. Just back from playing Swedenrock. Going to record our first album next month

  4. On top of the points people have mentioned, if you can't meet for whatever reason you can always pay via paypal that will give you some element of protection when buying something online

Bought things off bass chat and various Facebook groups and not had any issues

I would love to try with a high b,im after a 5 string sire v7 at the mo and dont want a drainpipe at the botttom.

Thats one of the basses I'm using at the moment. v7 and a G&L L5500

    The Sire's are great basses

  6. Since I started playing bass I've always played a 5 string tuned with a higher string rather than a lower string

Moved over from playing guitar (ew) so its always been tuned E A D G B (if standard) instead of a high C

Find it so much easier to have the higher chord options/tones without leaving position. Also means I can match/harmonise some of the guitar runs without shifting

Does anyone else play this way? Everyone seems confused when I hand them my bass to try

  7. Cheers guys. Ryanair were the only ones that did the flights at the right times. Had to pay extra £50 per instrument per flight. Apparently the extra charge is because 'they get treated better because its an instrument' here's hoping it doesn't get smashed up. Now to find a flight case...

  8. Macs just not really my thing and my money would not stretch as far as needed for a Mac

I already have the Daws and external soundcard just need new actual laptop

Am I right in saying my main concern is ram and hard drive space?

  9. G&L L5500 (5 string)- technically paid nothing for it just traded a lot of old gear but its my main bass. Used pretty much every practice definitely every gig. So much power. Have it tuned to high b rather than low b so I can trade guitar runs

Sire v7 (5 string)- got as a back up in case g&l ever got damaged. Great bass but doesn't have the oomph as the g&l

Ibanez sr505 - first decent bass. Used it on first ep released can't play it now as I don't get in with the thin neck but wouldn't sell it for sentimental reasons

Peavey tour 750- now the backup amp. Great. Used it for 3 years daily

Trace Elliot ah350smx - my main amp. Wanted one for years. Finally got it in november. gives me the tone I been lookin for

Ampeg 610hlf -bought specifically for a tour and recording. Love it. Used in studio every week

Pedal boards a different thing. Keeps changing. At the moment its a wah. Pig. Trobographic rusty box and an mxr di. All 4 used almost every song

Just ordered a sansamp programmable for some Europe dates I may not be Able to take my board

There's loads of other bits lying around I cannot justify

    Welcome aboard!

I'm currently at work so can watch but not listen... looks great :) (nice bass too). I'll give it a proper listen when I get home this evening.

    Cheers man. Love that g&l

Really liking all the ones submitted so far. Will be a tough choice when it comes to voting

Here's one I've been working on. Had to use some awful video editor to upload it as the general camera on my phone keeps crashing so ignore the weird imprint and double shot on the sides :)

Trying to incorporate the octave picking/typewriter technique in some of my playing

    Cheers
