Gonna go against the flow here.
I can't really see what the problem is with Rickenbacker's stance on this. They see instruments such as those in the op's photo as being counterfeit and take the appropriate measures.
I'm sure Rickenbacker have, in the past, spent a lot of time, money, blood, sweat and tears designing and manufacturing a quality product. Doesn't seem quite right to me that someone can come along and say, " Ooooh, what a fantastic looking bass, I can make one that looks identical and sell it for a fraction of the price"... As I say, doesn't seem right to me.

If you want something that looks like a Rickenbacker - buy a Rickenbacker!

its alright if you can afford it, when your starting out and want to look cool, a cheaper bass is the option

It took just 5 minutes of playing through a midget to convince me, tried a compact too and them together, put down the deposits straight away, had a chat with Alex and we worked out that a pair of midgets was what I needed, I considered a super 12 but the pair of midgets seemed a better choice for me, they really are as light and as powerful as claimed, I can't wait for mine to be ready.

how long have you had to wait for yours?

5. i want lightweight, cos of my dicky back, will be using GK MB500 Head, i like to hear myself and ive only got a small car (mini) my band plays stuff like, the who, weller, jam , kaiser chiefs, pistols, but me and the keyboard player normally have a run of 80s electro music, OMD, new order, depeche mode, for about 15 to mins so our set list is varied, we dont use a lead guitarist but have a pretty loud rhythm, and the drummer is a diamond cos he balances the sound out, ive not got mega bucks to spend but my motto is dont buy cheap otherwise you will buy again. im fed up of wasting money In the last 5 years iv bought around 20 different basses, ive finally got 2 that i woudnt part with, like i said the only issues i have now is with my back, i cant be lugging 35kg amps around no more,
Really like the look of the compact but is it good for me? or my amp?

6. Ashdown 1x15 combo, featuring the highly regarded Spyder amp. This is also one of the first released, and is built in the UK.
Beautiful sounding hybrid combo, which really nails the valve feel, I think it sounds a hell of a lot like a fliptop. Previous owner replaced the preamp valves with Electro Harmonix 12AX7s.
Ashdown 210T Compact Cab
Both in very good condition
Not had them very long but relised there just a little heavy for me, So, I'm looking for £380 ono collected, Yes £380 for the combo and cab, but be quick
Need to sell asap as i have my eyes on a smaller set up
Can email pics

If you played anything else over this it would of made something other than Oasis, that might be a good thing who knows but enough people liked it didn't they?

I hate them but I guess it inspired many people to think "well I could play that lets get a band going" :)
