    Trades?

Hi Rickster, I'll be totally honest, I have 5 basses, only need 4. (Actually that's a lie, i have 3 or 4 others that i dont gig with, but let's not split hairs...)

I have a Squier Mikey Way Mustang (search on here, I recently listed and withdrew it)

I'd trade both of them for a premium/high-end short scale.

    What were you thinking?

I love these. I have a black Peerless Cassidy (factory branded) with similar mods. I hated the original bridge and bought another bridge for it and removed the pickguard and it looks killer. It also sounds killer. Those humbuckers are amazingly versatile. I have used it detuned in rock band, where I normally play 5 strings and for soft and country rock and it just works!

I used her in our covers band for all the pop and 60s tracks but we've moved towards more rock so I've now got the Fender Meteora. Fell in love after seeing McFly on the Royal Variety and for £675 B-stock I couldn't resist 🤷‍♂️

Wish I could keep the JC but I don't have the space and the wife doesn't have unlimited patience 😁

  3. Hi people,  here we have a beautiful bass.

i need to sell as i have impulse-purchased a Fender Meteora which I'm in love with ❤️

It's immaculate, strung with flats and comes with a tatty but perfectly serviceable Epiphone hard case.

No pickguard, this was missing when I acquired the bass.

there is a Warwick bridge mod as you can see in the pictures, designed to stop the bridge posts grom pulling out and the strings silk intruding over the saddles, plus it gives unreal sustain. This was done by a previous owner but here is what he said

it has a bridge/tailpiece addition which has been done very well, it's a high quality part (Warwick) and does have a few advantages - you can use more types of strings as the wrap doesn't now come over the saddles, it increases the string break angle, and makes it more resonant.

other than the above, if you're looking at this then you know what you're looking for, if not the you can Google the specs :)

    Manufactured in Korea, July 2012

I will post UK with insurance in the hard case for the asking price.

  4. Sorry everyone, this is so beautiful I'm keeping it and selling my Epiphone Jack Casady in Gold

    *Edit*

***Pics added in better light, the finish is more Champagne than Pure Silver.***

Hi there thanks for looking. This is a top notch bass! Beautiful finish, super fast neck, short scale. Below is the spec a20240102_173315.thumb.jpg.e29c8e5527102328695f2a7052d9a5aa.jpgs new.

    These are selling for £750+

Taking into consideration this is modded, I've priced it sensibly at £625 including insured UK delivery

I have replaced the stock pickup with an active EMG solder-less loom, which is silent in use. She plays and sound amazing. Only selling because I have too many basses and want to buy a Fender Meteora.

    *Modifications*

    Replaced bridge with Black.

    New Gotoh light tuners

    Black nut.

    Custom-made 1-piece pickguard/control plate.

Battery compartment set into the pickguard (some routing of the body was necessary but this is under the pickguard)

Switch to turn off the battery because i use wireless and the jack is always plugged in.

New Black knobs and string retainer, plus a set of straplocks in black.

Overall the new pickup massively improves the tone of this Bass, Mikey Way did a similar mod on his one before he started using the signature Jazz which is what gave me the idea.

Included is a slightly tatty guitar gig bag by Protection Racket.

Bass will be sent in gig bag then inside a cardboard box, insured post included.

Also included are the original bridge, pickguard and control plate, pickup and wiring, 2 knobs, 4 tuners (no screws)

    Have a great day

  5. Howdy. So being realistic about market values. Let's make this £2,750 delivered and someone can love her like she deserves.

Here we have a stunning instrument.

    My 1980 Ricky 4001 Fireglo.

All original, except for a couple of the screws/washers for the machine heads which look like they've been replaced at some point previously and one I've replaced myself (see image)

Near mint condition for a 43 year old bass that's been gigged plenty.

Recently serviced by a Luthier, she had a couple of crackly pots and a dry solder joint, all sorted.

Selling because a project has come to an end and she deserves to be played rather than hang on my wall looking pretty!

Anybody looking to buy a Ricky knows how they sound and what they do, this one has the lot.

    Huge tone.

The Clash with some OD on the bridge pup.

McCartney on Come Together on the Neck with Tone=0

Mix the pickups, slightly roll off the tone knobs abs you have a beefy rock sound.

She has a few knocks, I've tried to show as best I can in the pics, but all cosmetic.

Hard Case is slightly tatty but closes fine,  no key though.

Some tarnishing on the tuner heads and a bit of rust on the input jack but all other metal parts are pristine.

Serial number TK4667 dates her to November 1980.

Neck is straight, action could be lowered but I had it set at a medium height for comfort.

Everything works as it should, including the Rick-o-Sound stereo outputs if you fancy trying to be John Entwistle :)

    Overall she's in fantastic condition.

I've priced a sensibly as I can based off BC and reverb pricing recently, there doesn't appear to be anything equivalent for sake in the UK under £3,500 (ignore the cheap one on Fleabay with a "Neck Repair")!!

I'm not desperate to sell quickly, but very happy to negotiate if you have a fair offer in mind. Would rather not post, but can do that fully insured and packed up tight in her hard case.

Happy to deliver/meet in Essex or nearby for diesel money, thanks for looking.

  6. Hi, this was my main studio amp, never been gigged by me as we went ampless a couple years ago. I bought it on here used 4 years ago but only use at home now.

Used but good condition, all working and no crackles.

This thing is a beast, easily competes with an acoustic drum kit with volume at 10 o'clock!

But it's light enough to carry with one hand!

    Specs from Markbass website:

    WEIGHT

    40.79 lbs / 18.5 Kg

    HEIGHT

    18.27 in. / 46.4 cm

    WIDTH

    18.27 in. / 46.4 cm

These amps are discontinued and are selling for £750+

I've bought a Rickenbacker bass so I'm reluctantly selling this amp.

Will deliver anywhere in Essex for £15 cash or Insured Courier within UK for £45 (its heavy!)

Or you collect from Billericay Essex.

    No cover.

    Power lead included.

    Make me a sensible offer!

Cash on collection, bank transfer or PayPal all accepted.

    This is a beautiful instrument.

Amazing condition except 3 tiny marks in the images, plays like a dream.

The maple neck and 30" scale play like butter.

I love her and don't want I sell but I've bought a Rickenbacker so she doesn't get played much.

This Bass is discontinued and super rare.

Made in China but don't let that fool you, the build quality is sensational, better than some American made instruments that I've played.

Serial number CGF1323787 dates manufacture to March 2016 according to the Fender serial lookup (see image)

Included is a Fender strap with Fender straplocks and a Tourtech Hard Case which it'll be shipped in.

Postage is fair at £30 or I will deliver anywhere in Essex for £15 cash.

Alternatively you can collect from my house in Billericay CM12.

Bank transfer, PayPal gift or cash on collection.

Listed elsewhere so this may end early.

  8. Absolute gent of a Basschatter. Sold me a gorgeous Fender Starcaster. Let me send a hard case to his house, which got delivered somewhere else but he went and picked it up. Then decided he didn't want the bass turned into kindling by Parcelchuck so offered to deliver it 100+miles. Hurt himself but still sent his old man to deliver the bass in his stead. Literally couldn't be more helpful or friendly if he tried. I am over the moon, this guy is why we all love Basschat. 11 out of 10.

  9. I haven't bought a new bass for 10 years,I like interesting and quirky. I bought a Les Paul 1971 on here which was beautiful but she was so heavy I had to sell her...on here :(

my main bass is an Aerodyne Jazz in white, it makes me salivate on a daily basis, was a wedding present and I'll never sell. My 2nd bass was a gothic thunderbird but I just sold that to @kingbollock... on here.

I just bought a short scale Squier Mustang on ebay!! it's lovely and easy to play fortrickier songs but needs a full setup and rewire.

I think Basschat is a haven for genuine people, I love it. Thank you to the mods for creating a fantastic platform

    Terry

  10. I don't want to sell this. But I want a Helix Floor. Forget about the Tories saying there's hard choices to make!

This is a beauty of a Bass.

    It's no longer available new.

I have replaced the scratchplate with a Gibson one cos i think it looks better but I have the original if you want it.

I have moved both strap buttons to reduce the neck dive.

Schaller strap locks included in sale.

    Hard case included.

UK Post included (I will pack well and insure) but you're very welcome to pick up from me or i can meet at a sensible place nearby.

I will add pics when I'm home (this is an impulse sale!!)

    Have a good day.
