  1. Cheers for the inputs. At least knowing the model I might be able to find out a little more about it even if I now can't afford it as the brakes have gone on the wife's car.

I reckon I need to take a trip out to a big shop and try some as I keep finding stuff I like the look of but need yo find out how they play and sound, (when I have some money)!

  2. Just bought a trace Elliot head from Hunt53bass. With not a lot of posts I was a bit weary and me being new to the forum, but great bloke to deal with and really helpful. He ensured I was happy once I received it and got it working, as we're differing ends of the country.

  3. Seen a 5 string hartke bass I like the look of but can't find any reviews on line.
I guess I should be trying some first but a lack of shops and options locally is limiting me.
I've been playing an old Aria pro II for years and I like it but want to try moving to 5 strings on a tight budget.
Any info or opinions great fully accepted (preferably no abuse about me liking my Aria:-) )

  4. Thanks for the response's and warm welcome.

As for the comments so far:

Discreet - already found 2 things to purchase in the amp and cabs and haven't ventured near anything else yet and only been on here for 30 mins and 0n a tight budget as it is so already skint!

    Grangur - Cheers!

Bass Tractor - spot on with the username deduction - Nice one!
Will be selling my Trace Elliot 1518 (unless I buy the amp in forum marketplace) and going for a trace combo of some sort.

  5. Hi,

Just got back into playing after a 12 year gap (moving with work has meant lack of bands to play with). Used to play in various bands around the southwest from pop to thrash, own stuff and covers and like re-working old tracks with a bit of twist.

Joined up for some inspiration and looking to get a new amp or combo as I downsized most of my gear as I now only play at home and don't need the bigger gigging rigs anymore (although having a deaf neighbour has been a bonus).

    Thought I'd say Hi.
