Ash will look nicer.

Thanks I was more leaning towards it so I will probably get it. -
I am buying a bass to modify and also use to gig but I'm stuck between two:
Harley Benton JB-75 in Natural
[attachment=169071:224321.jpg]
or
J&D JB Vintage 1975 in Natural
[attachment=169072:201563_l.jpg]
Both basses are in a natural finish with a maple neck and traditional Jazz controls but the Harley Benton is an Ash body and the J&D is an Alder body so It would be great just to get some opinions from people about the Body wood. -
My perfect bass (The neck is a Rosewood neck with a Maple fretboard).

ESP LTD Vintage 204 is one of the best bass's you can get for around £300.

From my experience with ash and alder bodied Precisions, the ash Precisions I`ve had have sounded more aggresive than the alder ones. It may be pickups, it may be many other factors, but all of them have had a brighter aggression to them.

Well I play aggressive music so I probably will get the Ash.
