  1. I'm selling off various bits and pieces of bass gear I no longer need.

Here is a set of four Hipshot HB7 machine heads in perfect working order. The bushings and screws are unused.

I used these for a few months as a direct drop-in replacement on a Squier Jazz Bass - they are also direct replacements for the Fender Player series machine heads.

If you are using them on either of these basses you do not need to drill new screw holes.

It maybe they directly fit other MIM Fenders too but I have no experience of that.

They have a nice fluted stem that holds the string really well.

Price includes postage in the UK.

Payment by PalPal or bank transfer please.

Each of the tuners has a couple of marks near the top of the clover leaf that were there from new - part of the manufacturing process I think - more visible in some lights than others. I've tried to highlight it in one of the pictures.

    Thanks for looking.

  2. Having a clear out of various odds and ends - on offer here is a set of D'Addario Chromes flatwound strings 0.45, 0.65, 0.80, .100

    They've been trimmed 2+2.

Used for only about 4 weeks, so not sure they're even broken in yet.

I've put a drop of superglue on the cut ends - as is my habit - to help stop the silk unravelling.

    Thanks for looking.

  4. I have a new bass arriving at the end of the week, so in accordance with my strict one in, one out policy I am - somwhat reluctantly - offering this late 80s Aria Pro Bass II SB-ELT up for sale.

The bass is really nice to play with a neck that feels very much like a Jazz bass. It was made in Korea and everything is original including the hardshell case.

It has plenty of tone options with what I think of as coil tap switches (not actually sure if that's what they are!).

It's in a well used condition but I would say 'well used' rather than 'abused'. Please bear in mind this bass must be around 35 years old so don't expect something new from the factory.

It was marketed in some countries as the SB-RSZ, the Rudy Sarzo signature model.

It's in an attractive Paduak colour. I thought it might be heavy with the solid brass-looking bridge and brass nut, but it comes in on my luggage scales as a pretty reasonable 9lb 3oz.

It has quite a few surface marks on the back which are visible in some light but not others. There is some corrosion to the washers on the front of the machine heads, but nothing that affects them working. There are a couple of small dings I have tried to capture and a small dink to the edge of the rosewood fretboard at the 16th fret. There is some fret wear on to lower frets on the E string but I would say they have plenty of life in them yet. There is also some finger staining to the rosewood fretboard. I've tried to picture everything I've mentioned above. Having listed all the issues I have probably made the bass sound worse than it actually is - it's a really nice guitar to play.

Trial and collection from near Tenby in Pembrokeshire is preferred, but I could post in the UK for around £25.

  6. I'm having a spring clean of stuff I don't use.

On offer here is a wide and comfortable Sandberg strap.

It was quite long and I couldn't get my bass high enough when I was using it without having the tail end loose, so I trimmed that down one notch (see last picture).

The main body of the strap is 8cm wide and the longest it will go to (hole to hole) is 125cm.

Price includes postage in the UK.

Payment by bank transfer or PayPal gift please.

    Thanks for looking.

  7. As with my other items listed here, I'm having a bit of a clear out.

On offer here is a little used, good quality 12cm wide padded leather Maruszczyk strap.

Bought by me a few years back from Bass Direct, for some reason the wider straps at the time didn't have the 'M' logo that they currently do, which actually I preferred.

Payment by bank transfer or PayPal gift please.

    Thanks for looking.

  8. I'm having a spring clean of gear I no longer need.

I bought this Slinger guitar strap/harness from Bass Direct a few years ago when I had the unfortunate combination of a heavy bass and a bad back.

Sadly the good looking guy in the picture is not me - that's a thumbnail from the Slinger site.

The strap really does reduce the weight of the bass by putting most of it on the belt that goes around your waist.

Price includes postage in the UK.

Payment please by bank transfer or PayPal gift.

    Thanks for looking.

  9. I'm selling off various bits of bass related things I don't need.

On offer here is a set of Elite Groundwound strings - long scale.

I bought them to see if I liked groundwound/halfwound strings. Answer: I didn't. Hence they were only on my Fender Player Precision for about an hour 😉

    Packaging is a bit tatty.

Price includes postage in the UK.

Payment by PayPal gift or bank transfer please.

  10. I'm selling off various bits of bass related things I don't need.

On offer here is a new and unopned set of Thomastik-Infeld Jazz flatwound strings - long scale, item no. JF344.

The guages are .100; 0.70; 0.56; 0.43 so slighly lighter than the 106 set but in my view better balanced.

Price includes postage in the UK.

  11. On offer here is a DHA VT1 Purist Bass valve preamp pedal in full working order.

Comes without power supply - works fine with every proper Boss pedal supply I've used but from experience it can be picky with cheaper eBay clones.

Velcro on the bottom from when it was on my pedal board.

    Price includes UK postage.

    Thanks for looking.
