  1. For sale is a lovely 6 string jazz. Solid bass with a lovely modern sound. I purchased this bass not to long ago from a fellow forum member and have had a lot of fun exploring the world of 6 string bass. A different instrument has caught my eye and the house hold  rule of (bass out/bass in) applies.

I have since installed a east 01 deluxe preamp which really opened up the sonic potential of this instruments Basstec soapbars.

  2. I know this is not the place for DB however I am looking to trade for a BG.

I bought this bass to experiment. I have two full size basses and wanted to see if the smaller body and scale length offered something different. Which it does however three double basses lying around the flat is not making for a harmonious home environment 😂.

I am  Looking to trade for something different for me. Open to anything except fender style basses or modern hifi sounding basses. Looking for something  unusual perhaps short scale, hofner-ish, hollow bodies, semi acoustic?

This little double bass puts out a decent sound it's quite punchy with new correli strings on it. It will beat out any acoustic bass at a jam session and the 35 inch scale length shouldn't be a massive departure for a bass guitarist. It has a little crack at the neck heel which has been repaired and I have not had any problems with.

  3. Selling my trusty Christopher hybrid.

a fairly sweet sounding bass. it had a little accident when in transit in which the neck came loose causing a minor crack to the top this has been expertly repaired by a local luthier in Kent and I have not had any issue with it in 5 years. I have also had the top regraduated which helped open up the sound quite a bit. The bass could do with a new bridge but the current bridge is working just fine.

it comes with a lovely heavy duty gig bag. Carbon rod endpin as an option.

All in all its a great student or starter bass. It is  comfortable to play and I have used this bass as my main gigging and recording bass for many years. Any questions are welcome.

  4. Hi all in a brief moment of insanity I have up for sale my beloved 64 Fender precision.

The bass was the victim of a spray can job in the 80s but has been faithfully restored to a nitro finish.

The original pick guard was warped and cracked so I replaced it with an period correct guard.

I also replaced the tuning machines which were on the bass with the correct reverse machines. I still have the tuners that were on the bass. these may or may not be original?

I also replaced the dodgy original volume pot which also still have.

The bass is not a collectors piece but it is a hell of a nice player and still makes me a little giddy everytime I take it out of its case.

Some pictures have been edited but I am happy to send originals and any extra pictures a buyer may need via PM or email.

Disclaimer: ball in the pictures not included to insure continued peace within my household but will throw in vintage bass smell at no extra charge.   😉

The bass has had the neck joint upgraded from the infamous dovetail joint.

Had a crack in the neck which has been stabilised and not given me any problems in the 7 years since its repair.

In short its a beast of a jazz bass there is loads of info on these basses online so I won't take up space with the details of the instrument. The bass comes with a gig bag and is currently wearing an Innovation Honey set.

Please don't hesitate to pm me if you have any questions.

Here is a link to me playing the bass recorded on my phone to give an idea of the basses sound.

  6. Hi all

This is my first post on this forum i usually lurk over at talkbass bass but I need some input from you Uk players out there.

To try and cut a long story short.
I am from South Africa and I have had a bass passed on to me by an older family member who lives up in scotland I will be heading up to fetch the bass from him mid June because he wants to get it out of the house.

Now the crux of the post. I will not be able to bring it back to SA with me i allready have two basses in my flat and my wife will kill me if i bring another in here. never mind the fear of having detroyed by south african ground staff.

so i need a safe place to store the bass in the UK for a few months until my sister who will be moving into a bigger house in london will be happy for me to keep the bass there. I have received a few qoutes from some storage facilities and the rates are way to expensive for me. 10 pounds a week.

Do any of you know a string shop or luthier who may be willing to store the bass for me for a fair price until such time as I am able to move the bass to my sisters house.

any help would be appreciated time is running out and i am worried i wont have a place to safely leave the bass.
