My Lytes - recently sold the red one. All 50th Anniversary / chrome models, with very close
serial numbers coincidentally. I know, such a tease..........

Surely you don't need two of the same mate? I'm just thinking about it logically, the way all us musicians do ;)

I have a tobacco burst '95 which I bought as one of the last from fender.
    It's a real beaut!
Chrome hardware and 50 sticker. Non matching headstock.

Every time I take it out to gig, it's pretty likely that someone will ask to buy it!
    It ain't going anywhere!

I wont ask what I was about to then :)

Bag End S15-D very nicely voiced all rounder - small but a bit of a lump by modern standards.

Same for me, no plans to change - it's the best cab I've had.

  4. I have had my PF500 for about a year - it has given me no bother at all and is a great little amp so far; I love the sound of it. But yeah I have read the horror stories too and I have to say that it does weigh on my mind a bit when using it at gigs and this isn't ideal. We rely so much on our equipment and I don't have complete faith in my amp which does detract from my enjoyment of it a bit. I hadn't read the bad press when I bought it (wish I hadn't since) but I think if I had I would have chosen something else (GK MB500 most likely).

  5. We played at the Racing Rocks festival at the Rockingham Speedway, an outdoor gig and the weather was just beautiful. We played a good set to a really good crowd and then got to enjoy the other bands and the motor racing afterwards. To top it off I wasn't driving so I could sample the splendid selection of beers and ciders. All in all it was a perfect day - one to remember for sure.

  6. I have been using the S15-D for years now and I really like it; nice clear sound but lacks the really low bottom end as the frequency range doesn't go quite as low as some cabs (as far as I am aware). Having said that its not an issue for me to dial in some bottom end on the amp and it sounds deep and clear - to my ears anyway. I have been after an S-12 or S-10 to run with it for a while now but can't find one for a decent price, I am prepared to wait as I like Bag End and want to stick with them. Bass Gear had the D12-D until recently but looks like its gone now, they also have a 410 cab in at a good price which has got my interest but I have a feeling it will be too heavy and bulky for my liking.

The Fender Modern Player Jazz would work. Not active, but has two chunky humbuckers with coil switches (loads of tones) and obviously a nice Jazz neck.

    +1 to that.

They run at about £400 off the peg.

IIRC there was also some all-girl (Australian?) band as openers too. They seemed to get a bit miffed when they weren't being showered with adoration by all and sundry. Considering I'd seen plenty of pub bands making a better fist of it I was tending to side with the rest of the audience.

I think they were called Chicks on Speed, and they were sh*te. I recall Frusciante telling the crowd off for not being 'open minded' enough about them. Rest of the gig - James Brown and Chili's was quality though, this was at Man City's stadium around 2003/4 I think.
