  1. This is a nice active bass, in absolutely as new condition. It's metallic white with a pearloid binding, and has a pretty cool 1980's look about it. It has a very 80's sound as well; it's pretty flexible and will cover most tones, but what it really excels at is that trebly, clanking tone that typified The Cure.

It's got a mahogany body and a bolt on wenge neck with a rosewood fingerboard. It's fitted with two humbuckers of Cort's own design, and has a push/pull volume control, a pickup blend control and a two band EQ, as well as a switch which boosts the mid.

It's a great bass, and I would not hesitate to gig it, it's just not getting played enough to justify me keeping it.

The details can be seen on the Cort site here:

I should add that I'm open to trade suggestions. I'm not sure what you could offer me for this money that would be interesting, but I play guitar as well as bass, I'm a particular fan of Fender, I'm not offended by Squier, Epiphone etc. Interesting effect pedals might get my attention, or if you wanted to trade a Blackstar HT-1 amp, I'd be all over it. Price now reduced to £120.

  2. Good day to you, low end brethren! I've got a still very shiny Breedlove for sale. This is the one with the funny soundport thing in the top, which I'm not convinced adds a massive amount, but does look cool, and anyone with a long beard plait can dip it in and out for extra performance value.

This bass is in as-new condition; it's been played a few times in the house, never gigged, stored in its hard case, and there's not a mark on it. The case has one broken catch, (has there ever been a bass hard case without a broken catch?) but the other 4 are more than adequate.

It's a really superb sounding bass, and plenty loud enough to play unplugged. It has a solid cedar top, and laminate mahogany back and sides, a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and Grover tuners.

It's fitted with an LR Baggs LR-T CV tuner preamp and pickup, quite a punchy tone both amplified and unamplified. Here's a link to the spec on the Breedlove site.

I would be very happy simply to sell it, but I'm open to interesting trades, also. I need a good bass amp with a polite indoor voice for front room practise, but I don't want any actual basses (or at least none that anyone would trade at this price; if you want to offer me a Wal Mk1, I'll listen!). Other than that, I'm always interested in interesting (non-bass) guitars, or indeed, a 5 string banjo.
