  1. Recently bought Vintage Modified Jazz from Steve, and i couldn't have wished for more. If i had purchased it brand fire new, i doubt it would have been in better condition.

Rapid delivery (as promised), ultra polite, punctual and courteous, and above all, a thoroughly ruddy bloody nice chap! Cheers Steve!

  2. Had a closer look, you can see the untreated wood in the cavity's, looks more like ash than mahogany.

    More picture if it helps

The last pic is with a Peavey jazz clone pickguard which show the pick up spacing,

  3. Hey guys, mind if i tap into the the wealth of knowledge? I just picked up this P/J bass. Has anybody seen one or know anything about it? The details i have are a little sketchy.

This is the only picture i have at the moment, i should be able to upload some more shortly.

I was told it is from the early 70's possible from Korea or Japan, Swamp ash Jazz body, appears to be a Precision style Maple neck with Ebony fret-board There's no cavity in the front, there are the 3 inline control pots on the front with a staggered series/parallel switch (although this could have been a 4th pot) the 1/4'' jack is in the side, which you can just see poking out on the bottom right.

I have also been told that this is all original except the pots and the bridge. Although the wiring and pick-ups have now been removed. The spacing between the bridge pick-up and the bridge looks minuscule, much smaller than any I've ever seen, although this could be an illusion because of the aftermarket bridge. There doesn't appear to be any signs of it being modified in any way, the rear cavity and pick-up cavity's all look like the were done at the same time. There are no signs of any screw holes where the pick-guard would sit.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

  4. Interesting stuff, i never really gave any thought on the affects a bridge would have on the sound. I can't add anything constructive to the debate, as I'm relatively new to the bass world, but are there any thoughts or advantages to the individual mono bridges as found on some of the Ibanez basses? I guess you can set the spacing to your preference.

  5. Hi Guys! Only just recently found Basschat.co.uk, But ive only been (attempting) to play for a couple of years, so forgive me!

I have a fully functioning Ibanez BTB400qm, and 2 projects- a vintage Paul Gibson clone, believed to be Avon Rose Morris (no branding) rescued from a skip! and a early Peavey International Milestone-1 (the Jazz Bass clone) And there seems to be very little information available about all 3 of them.

Just thought i'd introduce myself as this will probably be my new stomping ground for the foreseeable future.

    Cheers Guys
