Obviously I'm being shallow here and only thinking about the looks. But if I had a sapre grand hanging about...damn my poorly paid job.

2. Recently watched the Filmage documentary on Descendents and ALL this weekend. If you are into the Descendents or any of the bands theyve influenced definitely worth a watch. Possibly one of the best things ive seen in a while!

Also this song for fun and fast bass lines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poql2nzpVZY

Im not sure who I prefer out of Tony and Karl!

3. At my last gig my Fendeer MP Telebass decided to give up the ghost in someway or another.
I was playing two sets that night. The first set it was all working fine and dandy after I had finished, I put it into the guitar rack so i could quickly plug back in once the other band had finished.
So skip ahead 45minutes.
I plug my bass in, the volume seems to have dropped, no-one has touched anything and my controls are still rolled on to full. I give them a little wiggle, no luck.
My bass is producing minimal to no volume and keeps cutting out.

Any help on the issue would be grand.

All the best.

4. So My OTB 500 has now be repaired. But my cab is still KAPUT.
I'm no whizz with technical stuff, but I can solder and fix things if I know what is wrong.

Here is what happened.

My head had a PCB issue, it seemed to just dump ALOT of of energy (or what ever) straight into the my cab.
When i hooked my Amp and Cab up the problem happened straight away, no sound was made, just a burning smell (like the smell of burning wire casing) and then the smoke.

I am hoping this is not speaker related, and just some kind of connecting wire and/or fuse problem.

Any help on this ordeal would be great :)

All the best!

6. My band consists of two of my best friends (whom I have known since first school) an expat Geordie that we found in a bar and another best friends brother.

The pros are that we all get on really well, have the same musical interests and know what we are aiming for whilst writing songs. We are not afraid to criticise each other or throw our opinions out there, as we know its whats best for us as a band.

The cons are probably the amount of time we waste pissing around, studio time is expensive and if we're just sitting around drinking takes get sloppy!

Wow, that sucks. How many cabs has the Cab Slayer claimed? If Orange accepted liability with the 'faulty PCB' I would look into claiming for the cab repairs, for sure.

The number is up to 4 now!

8. So in August my Terror Bass head decided it wanted to BLOW UP EVERY CAB IT TOUCHED. I sent it back to Orange and they repaired it, saying it was a problem with the PCB (how vague?).
So Ive done a few shows and practiced with it since having it back, everything has been fine...until this past weekend.

So my band are in the studio, drums have been tracked and now its time to start the bass. My friend and studio engineer was lending me his dads friends bass cab for the day (as I still havent got around to repairing mine). Well we set up and plug in and...nothing. Nothing apart from the smell of burning plastic. The cab slayer strikes again! This resulted in no bass getting done this day and yet another cab to be repaired.

So basically I have lost faith in the product and do not trust my head anymore even if Orange say they have repaired it. I was also left feeling very embaressed and slightly angry.

Rant over.

I'm sorry to read this.
You must be very jealous of me then. The playing part I've got down to a tee, naturally. It's the having contact with a person of the opposite... er... gender! that I have trouble with.

Haha.
I think we should share our wisdom.

10. So my Terror Bass head has decided to give up the ghost again.
This time around it seems to be over powering every cab its connected to. Managed to blow 2 cabs at a studio and my own cab when I got it home (Just to check it wasnt bad studio equipment).
I have no clue what is wrong with it, I gigged the week before this started happening and everything was working perfectly.

Anyone else experienced the same kind of fate?

11. With all these 30 Day challenge apps popping up all over the place.
30 Day Abs, 30 Day Squats, 30 Day Sleeping...
I have decided to create my own (not app I do not have the engineering prowess for that).
A 30 day scale challenge!

I am probably the laziest musician (and I use that very loosley) I know, and I have never really given myself any time of learning my scales. :o

So for the next 30 days, I shall take 30minutes of my day to learn a scale a day. starting off slow then upping the BPM until I am sweeping away.

Wish me luck...I'm gonna need it.
