  1. Hi, I beleive I'd be the perfect candidate for this.

Have you tried Elixir strings before?
Yes, but actually only on guitar. They're amazing on 6 string, long life!

What other brands are you familiar with?
Pyramids, DR, Rotosound, Ernie Ball, D'addario. Currently using DR flats and regular slinkies.

What bass(es) will you try the new strings on?
    2 x '74 P bass and '75 Jazz bass.

What sort of environment will you be playing them in (e.g studio, gigging, practicing)
Recording, I write for library music. So chances are you'll be able to hear some examples of the strings in action, and those tracks will eventually make it onto TV. Gigging. In a Motown band, in a punk band and for sessions.

Why do you think you'll be a good candidate to test the strings?
Been playing for 12 years at pro level so have a good ear, been endorsed with Ashdown, now Aguilar and various pedal companies so I am really into my gear. I am also articulate and able to express and relay the sonics onto paper.

Links to any blogs/reviews you may have already posted (not essential but interesting)
I am on the Palmer Website as I endorse their gear, big fan of the reamper and triage.

    Thanks in advance,

    Remy

  2. Unfortunately have to sell this brand new, unused Palmer Triage Amp Selector as I dented a van and have to pay for the repairs... I intend to buy another as soon as I have money.

These are amazing and you can run all three at once, which is why I bought it. One for Pre Amp, One for Overdriven Bass Rig and One for Sub Bass Rig. The ultimate Bass recording machine! ha..

    Thanks in advance,

    Remy

  3. I've got the Triage on order. You can select between 3 amps and even have them on all at the same time!!! Bit overkill but I'm gonna use it for recording. Output 1 to DI/Pre-Amp channel Strip, Output 2 to my Aguilar amp and 4x10 and Output 3 to an overdriven amp and 1x15... Ha. Bit OTT but gonna be sweet!! I already have their Re-Amper which is very solid! Never tried the effects side of stuff though.

  4. Hey Everyone,

I've been a member for a while and love this place, especially looking for obsure posts and photos of gear!

I'm a bassist and backline tech in London. Play for Matt Cardle from X Factor and Josh Weller and tech for Jagwar Ma. I used to play for New Young Pony Club.

Would be great to meet more likeminded bassists and others. It's always great to have a pool of bassists to recommend if I can't make a show or need a dep.

My gear list is on my site: www.remymallett.com I'm quite a tradional player and believe groove and creativity are much more important than speed and technicality.

Thanks for reading and would love to talk about gear and geek out basically!

PS. Thinking/dreaming of getting a couple of Aguilar Cabs to go with my Tone Chode (Tone Hammer)... not too sure which ones. Torn between a 2x12 and 1x15, a 4x10 and 1x15 or just to go big and get a 4x12... Ha! At the moment I put it through all sorts, 8x10, 1x12 and it always sounds lush!

  5. MXR MICRO CHORUS - Sounds great. No loss of low end, versatile, one knob! Mixed with an octave pedal you can get cool organ and deep purple type sounds. New strings and treble on full I've recorded some nice Peter Hook esque bass lines. All round very good chorus pedal. And lush colour. Great condition. £50 plus P&P.

MXR PHASE 90 ('74 limited edition) - This is a cool pedal, even for bass! Another simple one knob function the sounds you can get are great. I like it best at about 9 o clock, playing with a pick and using a little amount of right hand damping. You can get a great, subtle phaser effect which sounds great for punk and punk rock bass lines! In great condition. £80 plus P&P.

Both have pro tape on their bottoms. Both are wicked colours too! I will be sad to see them go but I don't use them live as much as I'd like too...

Would like to sell them in one lot, so together it's £120 plus P&P which is a saving of £10.

    Thanks,

    Remy
