Thanks for the replies folks - certainly given me some food for thought. I bought a streamer Lx 5 in the hope it would replace the Thumb and still retain the same playability and tone, but no dice - my Thumb sounds/plays like no other bass I’ve played. 

My mate has a mid 2000 Thumb 5 and it seems so much lighter than mine (98). I might look into getting a later one. 

Love my thumb bass, most playable bass I’ve owned, but it weighs a tonne! It’s draining to play on long gigs and is really hurting my back and shoulder. 

Ive tried the slinger harness, that was too much faffing around and pretty uncomfortable. Anyone else got the same issues, If so, any solutions out there?

The five-string American Deluxe Dimension Bass V HH is a phenomenal instrument, with an ash body in the completely new Dimension shape and featuring a comfortable asymmetrical neck heel. Its maple neck is crafted with a great-feeling asymmetrical "C"-shaped profile, Posiflex graphite neck support rods, a convenient heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel, smooth hand-rubbed oil finish and five-bolt neck plate. The compound-radius (9.5"-14") maple fingerboard has 21 medium jumbo frets and a bone nut.

Its dual Dimension Bass humbucking pickups are both powerful and nuanced, and its five-way switching, 18-volt onboard preamp, three-band active EQ (center-detented treble, mid and bass boost/cut) and master volume deliver remarkable tonal versatility with any degree of muscle and finesse. I've tried to highlight any marks on the body and neck in the pictures. The 'G' tuning peg has some marks on it (see picture). The bass is in what I deem to be good
condition with only minor signs of wear.

I actually pulled the eBay ad as I was contemplating keeping the bass, the buyer contacted me after the fact and asked what it would take for me to sell it.

Was no mention of the strings being new in the ad.

I'm just unsure if it's 'the done thing' or not. I always change the strings and set up any new bass I buy to my taste, even when buying new.

I've just sold a bass on eBay, the bass was in (what I deemed to be) great condition. I've just had an email from the buyer asking for a partial refund as the strings are old and need changing. Am I being out of order thinking that this request is ridiculous?

The bass is in superb cosmetic condition and works perfectly. I can't get on with the string spacing as I find it a little too tight for my taste.

I'm located in Central Scotland but I'm willing to package the hell out of the bass post at buyers expense. Comes with Musicman soft case.

Ideally looking for money towards a 5 string P bass.
