1. Bought a few years ago here and has been gigged plenty since then, but still in fantastic condition.

1995 USA made Musicman Stingray, Fretless leftie. Amazing flame maple neck/fingerboard, Hipshot D-tuner (original supplied), Original MM pickup and 3 band electronics. Strung with Ernie Ball Cobalt flats. No real major dings, but a couple on the rear from a belt buckle or something (tried to show in the pics), and some tarnishing to the machine head posts. Bass is in great condition for its age and sounds amazing. Price includes original MM hard case as well as UK shipping.

Here's a link to some more pics: https://photos.app.goo.gl/gX15wt2qUAwsq9cTA

No trades please as I no longer gig.

    cheers

    Deek.

Perhaps we should start a group on here of BCers who will commit to buying one, and once we have achieved whatever the price break point is, place all our orders with the UK retailer who can then also benefit? If a UK retailer could let us know how many and how much?

You'd be shocked to see the margin that a Mesa dealer gets, it's very poor, so I'd be surprised if a dealer wanted to do this...

Do what I've done, stick some insulating tape on the switch so it can't move to 2ohm by mistake.

It's not a problem running it switched to 2 ohm when your load is 4 or lower......some people think it sounds better this way....

  5. I've had 2 Tech Soundsystems XS112 cabs, a Tecamp M212 and now have 2 Eich XS115 cabs.

They all sound great, especially the M212 - I think it was the perfect balance between weight/size etc. It had the Neo drivers (as did the XS112's). The Eich 15's have Ceramic magnets and they work for me.....I especially like the 6" HF driver as it really suits the fretless. The build quality is A1 and they're light enough to move around without groaning too much. The covers are excellent too.

I think the Big Baby is probably a technically better cab, on paper etc, but in a real world gigging situation, I wouldn't think they'd be much in it, but I can't say for sure as I've never tried one.

  6. That pic doesn't tell us anything except there is 1 Vol knob and 2 Tone - it doesn't actually mean that the bass is or was wired this way as those knobs don't look original to the bass (they're Strat knobs).

I'd wire it with 2 Vol and 1 Tone, as per this diagram: https://docs.google.com/gview?embedded=true&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.seymourduncan.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2016%2F05%2FJazzBass_Standard.pdf

  7. Just received an 8 coil MM pickup from Martin Herrick, and first off all would like to thank him for such swift service considering the time of year.

Pickup looks great and feels like proper high end quality - I've fitted a lot of pickups in my time and this seems to be on par with the best. I'll get round to fitting it sometime after Christmas.

Because the pickup is way deeper than a OEM MM pickup, I'll have to route the cavity a bit to make it all fit, but I knew this in advance before ordering. This was originally intended for a mates bass but he's just told be he's not too keen on having his MM routed out, so I'll either convince him or handily fit it to one of mine....

Will be back with more pics and my opinions on how it sounds when it's fitted...

    cheers

    Deek.
