Surely with it's combination of round and crispy it's more similar to a Lion Bar?
Would love a pair of those Fidelitrons for a project!
Yeah I'm sure they would work well in the bridge, given that some of the Gretsch basses feature two pickups. Even better would be a regular fidelitron plus something like a TV jones thunder-mag (http://tvjones.com/pickups-2/bass-pickups/thunder-mag/), which supposedly creates rickenbacker-esque tones. I'm not sure which would work best in the treble/neck positions though... -

Sounds awesome. Aren't kitkats more square than round?

You make a good point! Maybe one that has been too close to a radiator?

Having been GAS free for several years now I am slightly tempted with the Squier version and I don't even eat chocolate.
I hear the Squier version is good bang for the buck and has the exact same pickup, and I was thinking about pouncing on a used one if it came up, but this one showed up first! -

Lovely!
Nice to hear it sounds chocolatey!
When you say crisp, would you say more salt n vinegar, or cheese and onion ;-)

More like a pink wafer -
My new Fender Cabronita Precision bass, bought off AndyDye from around these parts. Sounds lovely, really crisp but with a round chocolatey-ness (a bit like a kitkat). Also it seems I'm developing a bit of a thing for strange combinations of telecaster headstock, double cut body and weird pick guard...

Andy sold me his Cabronita P bass which was exactly as described, he also took care of a good quality insured courier and packed it well enough to survive a nuclear apocalypse. Can't complain at all!

If you've bought from me or sold to me please leave a reply!

hi Andydye, does this come with any kind of case?

Just did a post, but I suppose it should probably go here too! -
We don't tend to make the most of our soundcloud page so we thought we'd upload a few previously album only songs. I hope you like them!

The cab sold to me, opus pocus lived up to his end of the deal with aplomb and it sounds great!
-
I'll take the cab!
-
I never seem to spot anything useful in skips. I did once see a complete back catalogue of guitar techniques that I was tempted by, but the rain got to them first...
-
They are both lovely looking basses, I'm sorely tempted.
-
what's the condition of the rs112 like? would you consider posting?
-
Hiya, would you consider splitting the two and posting? I'm after the cab.
-
Ah fair enough. I'm in Bristol and would really be angling for posted/couriered but since it's (probably) gone it doesn't really matter!
-
Hey man, just wondering if you are after collection only or are you willing to post?

Email them. Once I had made contact they were really chatty. Quite impressed. I was a bit worried because the courier who picked it up for them couldn't give me a receipt and it was a Friday. I emailed them on Monday to check and they replied within a couple of hours to confirm it had arrived.
Yeah I found them to be fairly thorough in response to questions, I just felt that it would've been nice to get a "by the way, we've got your amp" and "by the way, we've posted your amp today" since I'm sure 90% of their customers email to ask that anyway. Very pleased with the service though. Not sure if I'd be as pleased if it had cost me lots of money for the repair mind... -
Mine was sent off the other day, not heard back yet... did anyone get a confirmation that it had arrived?
-
I have the duo and I enjoy it a lot. I find it hard to do anything particularly expressive though. Does anything use a stylus with theirs? I've seen a few vids of people using them and it might make a bit of a difference.

Ours here. Older ones at the bottom, newer couple at the top. Should really get round to updating it! -

Nothing wrong with an LD150 if it's set up right, i've been gigging one for years, except that it's usually too quiet. You'll find plenty in the way of cabs, knowledge, and general obscurity on here, and many things to empty your bank account.

Sounds good to me! Oh don't get me wrong it does the job, but whenever I use something with a bit more grunt I normally notice/enjoy the difference. -
Hi there, I normally loiter round the music radar forums (same username) but it doesn't really live up to my bass needs so I thought I'd start to contribute on here!
I play bass in the band Actual Bird (Actualbird.com, soundcloud facebook etc) when I'm not busy with the day job.
My rig is relatively cheap and cheerful but I have definite upgrade plans. Currently I use a Squier standard P-bass special through a Line6 ld150 but I recently picked up a tc electronic bass head and am in the market for cabs!
I'm also interested in s/h gear so hopefully the classifieds on here are a bit busier than the bass section on MR...
TC electronic bass amp toneprints
in Amps and Cabs
Posted
Are there many tc bass amp users here? I have a BH250 which I like a lot and thought I'd share a few of my favourite toneprints:
Tubedrive - just a nice drive sound.
a little grit - obvious.
spectracomp - an amazing string by string compressor.
clean octaver - obvious.
octasweep - synthy-octave with a sort of swept throb.
variato - nice vibrato with oppositely mapped depth and rate - slow and deep, fast and shallow.
Not so keen on:
alienator
octasynth
Both are octave based effects but just sound a bit too modulated to me, rather than filtered-synth-ness.
I'd quite like to be able to switch between two effects quickly though, which you can do with the switch-3 footswitch. I'd assume that both effects would read the current toneprint pot position though - can anyone confirm this?
What I'd be really excited by, though, would be the ability to write your own toneprints as you now can for the pedals. Given that a lot of the effects feature multiple components, it might be really cool to stack them (with the regular pedal editor you are able to use the modulation engine on both the delay and reverb to make pure modulation effects, should you so wish, so it's probably not beyond the realms of possibility).
