Thanks for the welcome guys, I did think at one moment that being a drummer was a disadvantage on here Originally from the Isle of Wight, I was fortunate to share a beer with Mark King and his drummer, Gary Husband once in a bar in Ryde. They both swanned in and no one batted an eye lid, I jsut walked up and offered to buy them a drink as I wanted to thank them for entertaining me over the years. I ended up chatting cymbals to Gary Husband and Mark King couldn;t get a word in edgeways, which is very much unlike Mr King. Hello?? anyone there??

Hello everyone. I've been drumming for 27 odd years and have always appreciatted the bass guitar and the bassists I've been in bands with. I don't know what really appeals to bass playing but I'm willing to find out as I'm very much intrigued. I still love my drumming but thought it best to learn a 2nd language, probably because I've spent 27 years sat on a drum throne and want to see what it's like stood up. Anyway, the equipment I have is a BC Rich Warlock bronze guitar with a Behringer bass V-Amp (full of lovely bass sounds) I've only been playing with head phones on in a spare room and only then, intermittantly. So I thought that as I am on a drummer forum, and am learning everyday from that, that I would join basschat as it seems the friendliest and most informative bass resource on the internet. I look forward to picking brains and trying to add some insight from a drummers point of view. I'm also a tad nutty, which is more of a warning statement than an issue Oh and dare I say who my favourite bassists are? Mark King (Level42) and Cliff Williams (AC/DC) for two totally different reasons and styles.
