John Paul Jones,Steve Harris and Cliff Burton really stand out as my earliest influences on the bass

my old pub rock band was allways accused of playing way too loud (rightly) but i guess its what teenage rockers do, though i recently had a jam session with my old drummer, and he still blew my ears off....'king drummers lol

ive just stuck in Entwistle P & J pickups in my washburn, sound great, look em up on ebay

if the drummer sucks, then you all suck, no matter how good the rest of you actually are, sad but true

I did a gig once where during the soundcheck the lead guitarist had a shocking experiance....

it seemed he had a habbit of "unplugging" his amp by yanking the power lead to release the plug !!
so after as it turns out one "yank" too many, hes happily playing during the soundcheck, when he goes to touch his mic,

now with the plugs earth wire " yanked " round to meet the live, his strings now flowing with 240volts
upon touching his mic he earths himself...

resulting in him being thrown backwards through the drumkit and hitting the back wall...

Gig cancelled / re-scheduled, and ambulance to pick the idiot up

Hi Bert, thanks for the welcome,
the SH60's active system packed up on me, so i junked all the electronics ( never liked how it sounded anyway ) and bolted in the Entwislte pick ups, a single volume pot and a 3 way switch from a Les Paul, and now sounds great, the scratch plate is a chopped fender P. plate

I started playing in '86 ( when I was 13, seems a long time ago now )
Ive played in a few bands in the southampton area, though had a 10 year layoff ( raising a family etc )
but getting back into it over the last couple of years
