1. Don't know if anyone else has seen this? Just had an e-mail regarding the SC re-launch. Now being called Reverb which was what I think they used to call their magazine. Not all old SC shops probably just cherry picked the best sites.

    Possible bargains to be had?

  2. Got a blood red one of these. A mate gave it to me for my lad to learn on. Alex has moved on now to a Fender Jazz. The Axe is, as others have said bloody heavy. PJ pick ups, Precision sized neck. The paint job does look really thick. Considering how old it is it's in pretty good nick, hardly any knicks or dings. The one I have is in need of a good set-up or replacement electrics. I have been thinking about it as a project but not got round to starting yet. Was going to post to see if anyone had heard of them, saved me the trouble. If I get chance I'll put a pic up

  3. My lad Bassboy 115 bought one from Sound Control @ Music Live in 2006. Lasted a month and popped. Took it back to SC in Brum and they did a deal on a Mag 300-210. Gigged for 12 months no probs at all, great tone (though obviously Marmite with some BC'rs). He then changed set up for a Hartke rig, (HA3500 & 4.5XL).

I bought a 2nd hand Mag 300 head recently from a Basschatter as back up for him, Alex has now swapped out for the Mag & the 4.5XL, tremendous tone. So go figure.

Personally, the Ashdowns are IMHO great amps but each to their own

is this band based in liverpool or widnes??

if not, then if it was created less than 4 years ago, they're big copy cats
inertia?? (liverpool or widness??)

is this band based in London??

if not, then if it was created after 1992, they're big copy cats ;)

VERY sturdy, VERY well built and VERY good design, really clever. May seem like a lot of money but honestly you won't regret spending a penny of it, highly dependable gear.
+1 for Hercules, clever design, quite compact and seems well made

  6. Not to worry Son, it's working, It seems it's the fuse holder in the back. Took the fueses out to check if they had blown, put the holder back in and Hey Presto working.

Don't know if this common? Any comments guys :)

  7. I've read the thread regarding the PAT testing of equipment . My son has a Hartke HA3500 amp, his band will soon be playing at a council run gig and they state that all equipment being used needs to be PAT tested which they will do prior to the gig. Straight forward enough no worries there.

My question is this must the cab be connected to the amp when testing is being carried out? From my limited knowledge I understand that becaause the amp has a valve pre-amp it needs to be under load i.e connected to a cab when switched on. Is this the case or not?

Any advice please guys, will be greatfully received.

  8. I thought it was the Jazz by that album, Sounds grrreat :)

Saw them live in the cow shed of the Staffs showground many many many years ago. 2112 tour I think it was all Ricki then tho. If I recall correctly and I am getting lots of senior moments now but both Lee & Lifeson played twin necks!!

    Thanks guys.

  9.
either that orrrrrrrr........... make yourself a little trolley out of MDF and attach some castors to that then you wont ruin the precious cab!
Did that, now the little trolley is just another thing I have to find space for in the back of my estate car, and his gear is getting more and more. Can't wait for him to be old enough to drive, i can then just turn up and watch the show instead of being chief roadie and bottle washer........no just joking I love every minute of it :)

  10. Hi guy's looking for some advice here hopefuly.

My lad Alex (Bassboy115) has just got the Hartke 4.5XL cab. Great sounding cab no worries there, however as everyone knows it weighs a ton  My question is, if I fit castors to the base how will it affect the sound of the cab. I'm thinking of some low 50mm dia. Would it be ok to leave them on or should I fit removable type. If removeable are prefferential is there enough space inside the cab to accept the obligatory spiggot which I presume would be present with removable castors, without coming into contact with the speakers or any wiring?

Sorry just noticed more than one question :)

    Any help/advice greatfully received.
