1. Finally got round to getting a B15N for the studio as my space isn't huge so this rig was always a bit too much for the room.

This is the Heritage series Ampeg CL Heritage Amp with matching Cab.
Only 350 made worldwide, Amp head is number 186.
Amp head also comes with a wheeled flightcase.

Head has had recent full service with brand new output valves and rebiasing.

Can be demoed at my studio in Leeds, LS9. Thanks for looking.

2. Thanks for all the replies everyone!

As it happens I own a B100r that's currently in the studio, I was thinking of testing it out against the B15 and selling it if doesn't sound as good or flipping the B15 if it does.

I think the Baxter ones are mainly 60s models which may account for the higher price. There's no info now on the one going for £1,200 on the Bass Gallery, will drop them a message.

3. Hi everyone,

Been looking for an Ampeg B15 for the studio. Andy Baxter hasn’t had stock for a long while I imagine down to covid so trying my luck here hoping someone might want to part with there’s.

Wasn’t sure where to post this or if this kind of post is allowed so feel free to delete or move as applicable.

Cheers,

Shaun

Hey guys,
Looking at selling both my Jag and Amp. Wanting a change, maybe a Bassman and a Strat, who knows.
Anyway, I've had the Jag since new and it's been heavily gigged with obvious signs of wear. Nothing detrimental just a paint chip and some dings and scratches. Currently fitted with a Mustang Bridge and 12 gauge Thomastik flatwounds.
My Twin is in lovely condition, recently been fully serviced with new output valves, a preamp valve for the reverb driver and a whole new set of capacitors.
Hit me up if you're interested. I'm based in Leeds, England. Wouldn't mind selling them both together. Offers in the region of £1,700. (Would sell the Jag for £800 and the Twin for £850.)
Gonna get loads of pics soon and upload them. Stay tuned.

6. Hi Romulus,

I'm selling the very first bass guitar I owned on here if you're interested (it's the one I learnt on):
http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1

As Amps go, Ampeg do decent practice amps. A 35w Ampeg BA110 (1x10" speaker) would do your daughter nicely and not be too loud to annoy you when she's practicing. It also has a headphone input for silent practicing. Can be had for about £150 new or less used.
Ashdown also do similar practice amps like the 15w Tourbus 10 (1x10" speaker) and the 15w After Eight (1x8" speaker).

An amp with a 10" speakers should give you enough bass response and be light enough to carry around. Wattage isn't really an accurate way to gauge how loud an amp will be but for practicing 15-30w should be fine.

I'd avoid starter packs. Buy cheap, buy twice, as they say. They're good for a while but you want something that will encourage learning, I wouldn't put too much merit into the build of a starter bass (or any instrument) let alone the ability of the amp to give you a sound worth listening to for hours on end. You want a bass that stays in tune and plays well which will be a joy to play for years to come until your daughter decides to upgrade. Same goes for an amp. A good practice amp can be taken anywhere and will have uses no matter how big your rig becomes.

Yamaha and Ibanez are both great makes and make solidly well built instruments. My Ibanez GSR200 has seen me through learning to gigging to recording. Music Man make very good basses, their StingRay range are awesome, basses built for bass players from my experience (with a price tag to match). I haven't played a Sterling but it looks like a cheaper alternative to a StringRay (still not that cheap mind). Noting your daughter is quite young and given girls generally have smaller hands, a Squire (by Fender) Mustang bass may be an option. They're a shorter scale length then regular bass guitars so she could find it easier to play.

Hope this helps, there's a lot of choices out there. If you need a hand picking stuff or want to chat about different specifications of the gear you've been looking at just send me a message on here.

Kind Regards,
Shaun

P.S: I agree with going to a music store and having your daughter try out a selection of different basses. That way she can judge weight, neck size and general comfort of playing. If it has flowers on it or it's bright pink, avoid it!

7. Hi, For sale is my home built reggae soundsystem. Originally consisted of two 18" scoops and a dual 15" bass box which I have since sold.

Included is the rest of the speakers and a rack containing all the equipment needed to run them. The speaker boxes are made of MDF and consist of:
1 x 2x12" mid box - Fane Sovereign 12-200w drivers (playable at 45hz)
1 x boxed 1" compression driver with folded horn - Fane CD280 80w

The rack consists of:
Soundcraft M8 Mixing Desk - 8 mono mic inputs, 4 stereo TRS/Jack inputs
Behringer Crossover - Works 2, 3 or 4 way (system can be used 2 way with 2x12 box used for bass and the horn for treble. sounds very crisp when the crossover is tuned right)
Yamaha Mono 31-band Graphic EQ (Great for further sculpting the sound and convenient to remove problem frequencies and tame feedback/resonances)
Matrix UKP1300 Stereo Power amp - Capable of running each box of one channel
A flightcase to house everything with a 4way extension plug inside
2 x Speakon Cables and all IEC cables for rack gear

This would make a great addition to a 15" scoop system or a 4 way system with 18" scoops.

I will also throw in a Citronic PD-1 Turntable and phono power amp to get you started :)

Thanks for looking, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
I recommend this system be viewed before purchasing.

Asking £500 for the whole system.

Kind Regards,
Shaun

8. Hey all,

Selling off the very first bass I ever owned. Taking up space now I've got my Jazzy back from Fender for repairs.
I was really surprised with how playable this bass is (especially after upgrading). It's great for slapping and finger style, very lightweight and the active electronics help you sculpt out a very useable tone especially with the "fat boost" knob.

Knobs are a little loose and the backplate is missing for the 9v battery, it stays in place but a bit of tape over it will make sure it doesn't fall out mid show. Other than that the bass is cosmetically sound and should gives you years of fun playing without the grief of a poorly set up instrument, it definitely got me into bass playing along with heaps of 70s reggae music.

Anyway, only asking £60 pickup, don't have a box to send this I'm afraid but I'm willing to travel a bit.
If you're local to Leeds I could deliver personally for £5-10.

Kind Regards,
Shaun

9. Never really took much note of it but people have mentioned I remind them of Geezer Butler, I suppose being a finger style player it's something I took on board in my rock playing as I found I really dug in with my right hand when playing. Reggae wise I'd most definitely say Aston "Family Man" Barrett's melodic yet heavy bass lines really float my boat.

Also, I think Flea's statement regarding "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" with the bass playing just what the song needs and nothing more really stuck a chord with me. (in regards to everything, not just bass.)
