  1. I have pretty much this exact bass - hands down the best decision i ever made to get one. I have not played lots and lots of basses, but of all those I have tried and owned this is definitely the best. I also get a lot of praise for my tone (pretty much since owning this bass), and I play through various amps at gigs so has to be the bass! I love it. If I could justify it would definitely get a second one!

Good luck with the sale :)

  2. Yeh - I guess that is perhaps what may be putting people off. I am just not sure how to go about packaging it as I have not got a case for it and I would hate the though of it being damaged from shipping. I am unexperienced, but if anyone have any tips - e.g. where I could find some suitable packaging etc then I would be willing to consider it, if someone wanted it.

SpikeBass - I do like the look of that Gibson, and also the Hohner too....i will PM you!

  3. For sale or for trade:

Fender P Bass. Made in Japan. 1994/5 I am told by the previous owner. Lovely sounding bass. It hangs on my wall alot though and I don;t play it so I feel it should go to someone who will use it. Not long after I bought this I laid my hands on a US Peavey Cirrus and I now never want to pick anything else up!
There are a couple of very minor bits on the side of the neck / fretboard which I have photographed. This was how I bought it, it did not worry me and I can safely say it does not affect the playability whatsoever.

So happy to sell this but also open to trade possibilities. I am interested in acquiring a six string bass so if you have something along those lines then give me a shout.

I am based in Putney, south west london so happy for anyone to come and try it out. I dont have a case for this so won't be sending it anywhere I am afraid. However, I will travel a bit to meet someone if they really want this. I work in central london so could always meet there during the week if that is easier.

Anyway any questions ask - its a pretty straight forward beautiful japanese fender p bass - not much else to add really!

  4. Live I don't use any effects at all, and not much at home either. But I now have a tapping part in a new song of ours, which I have been thinking about cracking out my compressor for. I remember it being extremely noisy though so was thinking about getting something else. However, after trying it just now, it not noisy at all - very quiet in fact - on any of the settings, even with sustain right up its pretty quiet. Was my memory failing me? No. Having added my boss TU-2 tuner into the mix, there is it, that crazy hissing noisy sound - at any setting - that noise is there. So i removed the tuner, and tried linking it with the Big Muff - just the compressor and the big muff - noiseless again. Now I am thinking maybe it is just the tuner...but I swapped out the big muff and tried just the compressor and a cheap behringer delay/reverb (DR400) and the noise is back again, once more at any setting.

Can anyone offer any sort of explanation here? I don't know much about these sorts of things but I just cant really figure out why it is silent with the big muff and really noisy connected to those other 2 pedals? In case it matter I am connecting them using Djago power with the daisy chain cable that comes with it. I have tried a variety of patch leads and long leads and no changes to the above situation so nothing to do with them. (Again if it matters, bass is US Peavey Cirrus and amp is GK MB800 through a GK MB212.)

    Any thoughts / advice?

  5. Very much worth the trip! I try not to go too heavy in the naming of inanimate objects but Cyril fits.
He is getting a large amount of my attention, it is the most awesome bass I have ever played and will be glued to my hands for the foreseeable future that's for sure.

I would be keen to try a BXP version out of curiosity though. I have heard very good things about them too. It would be interesting to compare...
