Lowdown Basses custom 6 string fretless for sale. Lowdown basses are built by Chicago bassist/luthier Tim Seisser, who is a small but fantastic bass builder based in the US. I've owned this bass for over a year and have gigged it a lot, but just don't quite get on with it how I thought I would. Beautifully made, plays great, sounds great, looks great, but my requirements have changed somewhat for several reasons. This bass is based on the 'catacomb' design that Skjold basses use a lot. It has a multi-layer body - top and back are solid, centre piece is solid but thin-ish, largest layers are heavily chambered. This creates a middle ground sound between solid body and hollow. Essentially a heavily chambered body, but done so with a solid central core. More details on the Lowdown site: http://www.lowdownbass.net/custom-series-sold/qqrk2ppsmg8uattu5gsd7r89sd741h There are a few signs of wear - the top of the body near the back (see pics) has a couple of dings in. Purely cosmetic, but they are there. Also a note on the one piece ramp/pickup cover - this originally had a 4 black screws with small heads. These weren't quite up to the job and were pulling on the wood layers of the ramp so I replaced them with larger headed screws and nylon washers on top and underside. This doesn't look as beautiful as it could do, but can easily be altered. This was just my originally fix and I never found reason to change it. Functions absolutely perfectly. Controls are: Vol/pickup blend, passive tone w/ pull to engage passive mode (passive tone is in parallel and can be used in active or passive mode), Mid boost/cut with freq. selector, treble/bass stack cut/boost. Mini toggle switches turn on/off 'turbo' mode on the Nordstrand Fat Stacks. Not 100% what this is, but it makes it a bit louder, fatter and noisier! Nordstrand say 'This will result in a meaner version of the large tone these pickups deliver — albeit with 60 cycle noise that single coils inherently posses. Looking for £1100 ono all things considered, but open to offers. Will provide a Mono gig bag with bass. Based in Birmingham if you would like to come a give it a blast. Can ship fully insured at buyers expense, but would prefer collection. Can arrange meeting half way etc. if necessary. A lovely bass that deserves more use. Also open to trades on a nice P-Bass, Jazz or possibly a Hofner. Open to offers, so do give me a shout. Thanks for looking! SOUNDS: Specs: - 33" scale 6-string fretless bass - 17mm string spacing - Figured Myrtle top - Black Accent Veneer - Multi Layered thick body w/Chambered Butternut core pieces - 3 pc center body laminate of Walnut/Bloodwood/Walnut - Figured Claro Walnut back - Bolt-on one piece Quartersawn maple neck - Gabon Ebony fingerboard with 24 Bloodwood lines, 16" radius - One piece Bloodwood top Ramp/Pickup cover with Butternut base and Walnut/Bloodwood accent layers - Nordstrand Fat Stacks with Single Coil/Hum Canceling Stack tap switches - John East U Retro Preamp. Bloodwood cavity cover - Hipshot A Bridge and Ultralite Tuners - Dunlop Dual Design Straplocks - Ebony nut Originally strung with TI flats, but have been using DR Sunbeams on it for a while (strung with DRs in photos). Have recently strung it with LaBella copper white nylons. Both sound good and obviously offer their own voice. Bass isn't particularly light or heavy - will weigh if you want!

Golden Age Project Pre 73 MKIII preamp for sale. This unit is in absolutely perfect working order, but has some scratches on the housing - most prominently on the top - from mounting and use. These blemishes are purely cosmetic and do not affect the preamp at all. A great sounding 1073-style preamp that exhibits an excellent 'vintage' colour. This model is the standard Mk.III version, but can be upgraded to Carnhill transformers if desired - a very popular mod. I do not have the original box for this, but will of course package appropriately for shipping. Comes with original power supply and manual/documentation sheet. Based in Birmingham, but will ship UK for £10. Other destinations, let me know and I'll figure out the postage! From the Golden Age website: The PRE-73 MKIII is a one-channel vintage style microphone-, line- and instrument preamplifier. The signal path uses only discrete components like resistors, capacitors and transistors. The in- and output is transformer balanced, using two different transformers, each one optimized for its purpose. This is the way audio components were built before integrated circuits became available. The circuit used in the PRE-73 MKIII is similar to the preamp section in the classical 1073 module with a corresponding sound character that is warm, punchy, sweet and musical. These classic characteristics have been heard on countless recordings through the years and it is a versatile sound that works very well on most sound sources and in most genres. The essence of this sound is now available at a surprisingly low cost, making it available to nearly everyone. – Vintage Style electronics. No intergrated circuits in the signal path. – Maximum gain in MIC mode is 80 dB, enough to handle passive ribbon mics with quiet sound sources. – GAIN switch range 20 – 80 dB. GAIN/LINE mode switch, gain is reduced by 30 dB in LINE mode. – Selectable two position high frequency AIR boost eq, 3 or 6 dB @ 30 kHz. – Selectable 6 dB/octave two frequency high pass filter at around 40 (HP1) and 170 Hz (HP2).– Tantalum capacitors in the signal path. – Switchable impedance in MIC mode, 1200 or 300 Ohms, will change the tone of most mics. The input impedance in LINE mode is 10 kohm. – Switchable phantom power and absolute phase.– A high-impedance instrument input for any sound module, electric guitar or bass. – A simple but effective 4-step LED output level meter. – The output level control makes it possible to make fine gain adjustments and also to overload the main gain stage(s) for more character and then lower the signal to a suitable level before the output stage. – Combo XLR/TRS input jack and separate output XLR and TRS jacks for flexible connections. – Insert jack for inserting EQ´s and other units. – Selectable 600 ohm output termination. – The pcb is prepared for the Carnhill input transformer. – External power supply to avoid interaction with the audio circuits and transformers. – A solid build quality that will last many years of normal use.

2016 Fender Mustang Offset PJ bass (made in Mexico) in sonic blue for sale. Bought last year and only played at home and in the studio. Has a couple of small dings on the top and bottom sides of the body (I have tried to show this in the pictures) and a very small mark on the front of the bottom horn, but otherwise in excellent condition. I have replaced the stock bridge with a Gotoh 201B-4, as the original was rubbish! Strung with LaBella flatwound strings. Did not originally come with a case, but I will send in an old Ritter gig bag (pictured). The bag has seen better days, but the protective aspects of it are all 100%. Plenty of photos below, plus a stock image to better show the colour - it's a hard finish to photograph properly it seems! Will include strap with bass (it's a basic Ernie Ball one) and rubber washer 'strap locks'. 30" scale, stock Fender P and J pickups with 3 way selector and volume/tone controls. Alder body, maple neck and Pau Ferro fingerboard. A very light and compact bass that is super easy to play and surprisingly versatile. Looking for £375 ono. Based in Birmingham for collection, or can courier (fully insured) at buyers expense (will package properly in gig bag and shipping box) - probably looking between £20 and £45 depending on service etc., but not 100%. Can provide a quote if necessary. -
Sold some strings to Tony - very smooth transaction and super easy to deal with. Very friendly and a good guy. Cheers Tony!

LaBella gold flats 6-string set for sale. I bought these to try them out and, although I quite like them, they just don't suit my basses so I thought I'd see if anyone else wants to give them a blast. These were fitted to a fretless, 34" scale bass for about 24 hours and have obviously been clipped when stringing up etc.. I was fairly conservative on the clipping, so they should still fit a 35" scale instrument with no problems. Fretless instrument, so no pitting or fret marks. £60-65ish brand new, but £35 ono and they're yours. Happy to post in the UK for £3.50. Thanks for looking!

Iron Ether Xerograph Standard for sale. Used, but in perfect condition. In full working order with no blemishes to the pedal. Comes with original box, velcro strip and adhesive rubber feet. A superb low pass filter that sounds fantastic Note that this isn't an envelope follower, but the filter sweeps can be controlled via external expression pedal. From the Iron Ether website: "The Xerograph is a fat, synth-inspired 4-pole resonant lowpass filter. It offers a wide variety of filter sounds, from monstrous dubby bass, to synthy resonant filter sweeps, and wah." Based in Birmingham, but can ship in the UK for £5. Thanks for looking!

Two Notes Torpedo C.A.B. professional speaker simulator pedal for sale. Used, but only very light use. In perfect condition apart from small sticker residue on one side - very minor. This is an excellent speaker simulation solution for use live or in studio and plays very nicely with pedals. Pretty small footprint, lots of options and great sounds. Mic and tube power amp emulations are particularly excellent in my opinion. Original box, power supply and manual included. Cannot find the original USB cable for connection to computer, but this is very common and cheap cable to pick up. Can post at buyers expense, based in Birmingham. Payment via bank transfer or Paypal. Will trade/trade plus cash to me or you (depending on situation!) for Strymon Timeline, Source Audio Reflex, Boss ES-5 or Boss PS-6. From the Two Notes website: '(Torpedo CAB) is a high-end cabinet simulator in a stompbox format. It includes all the great features of the Torpedo Live, without the loadbox but with an input stage specifically tailored to accept pedal-level signals. You love the sound of your amplifier pushed right to the magic sweet spot where the best tones are. Until now, the only available option was blasting your sound through a 4×12″ to properly excite a microphone. Enter Torpedo, the simplest and most realistic way to get your sound to your audience. Use the amp you love! Everything that makes a real amp rule over all the other alternatives is retained. You can even record silently late at night. Gone is the backache from the loadout, complaints from neighbours, venue staff or even bandmates and the frustration of not being able to sound at one’s best trying to reduce the volume.' Thanks for looking!
