1. Evening all,
I'm looking for £190 for a very underused but loved fretless vintage modified squier jazz. It's been well kept and is in excellent condition. The project it was bought for never really got off the ground and similarly im not much of a fretless player. The available tones are fantastically variable and the seymour duncan pickups do a nice job. The bass itself is stock. There are no chips in the lacquer but there are a few scratches, the worst is pictured. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

pickup would be from London SE1. I hate the thought of posting my basses.

haha, that's amazing. It looks like claymation. If i were a scientist that would be called The Trap Door Effect!

  3.
Have you tried the bassdoc? He has things like this from time to time.
I haven't - i guess he's a BC'er right?
I have some spares (from the Bass Doc who rescued me when I was in a similar situation). Post a pic of the tuner in question and if it's the right one you're sorted. By the way, a few weeks back I ordered from BPR on a Monday and the part arrived on the Thursday. 4 days from the states!
    Chris
If you have a spare you don't mind getting rid of that would be great, if not it's a relief to hear i wont need to wait too long to get my bass in tune again!

    Thanks for the suggestions guys

  4.
Try any decent Fender dealer for a badged replacement. Probably to order in but should be available.
We have a few single Schaller (often used on Fender) in the shop.
Someone on BC may be selling one.
I tried everyone on Denmark today and had no joy, even though Rose Morris is a fender dealer - will try the Bass Gallery tomorrow.
Just to let you know, Bass Parts Resource are good to deal with, a number of us have used them in the past, obviously you'll have to wait the 4/5 weeks for it to come from across the pond, but no problems when I've used them.
Cheers Buzz, may have to go with BPR if i can only buy sets of tuners. I need to use a hard case in future :/

  5. Yep, public transport and a not entirely sober bass player has resulted in a broken machinehead on my s-1 jazz.

I've had a search online, but so far i've only found "bass parts resource" which is in the US. Does anyone know a place in the UK that can sell me a single OEM replacement?
    ta much,
    Paul

  6.
For a Tapper / Slapper, the most versatile compressor that I have ever used is the TC Electronic C300 and its XLR version the C400. As opposed to most compressors, it features program specific compression in the form of Full, and Multiband Spectral.

    ...

I still use my C300. I rate TC Electronic gear very highly.
+1 for the c300, i followed Dood's recommendation & I've been really pleased with the results from this rack unit- it sounds very open to my ears but can do the squishy stuff well too.

  7. Could the pups be wired out of phase? I remember seeing a helpful youtube video about it, but i can't find it atm.

I think the symptoms were something like low output when both pickups are on full, but with either the nexk or bridge soloed the volume was louder.

I'll try to find the vid, but i'm sure someone here knows about it.

    Paul
