That's not David from East Grinstead is it? If so, I thought you'd settled on Nordstrands?

No Graham, you're mistaking me for that other guy in Sussex with rosewood neck/badass bridge 79 P Bass! :P The Nordstrand thing didn't work out, long story - will tell you next time. Still interested in Nordstrand pups, not those particular Nordstrand pups iyswim ....

  2. One of the split pups on my 79 P Bass has gone and died on me, so I have decided to splash out and fit some newuns. My bass has a rosewood neck and badass II bridge. My music styles range from soul/funk (no slap) to jazz and swing. Have looked at everything from original Fenders,SDs to Nordstrand and Lindy Fralin. As it is going to be done only once I want to get it right.

I realise it is ultimately down do my playing style and personal preference, but I would appreciate some recommendations and warnings (humble opinions will also do). Really want to warm up/enrich the tone a bit without straying too far from that original P Bass sound.
    Thanks

  3. Never to old
My good friend lost her partner to the big C a few years back. Took early retirement. Decided to take up guitar 3 years ago having never played a musical instrument in her life - switched to bass 2 years ago, now gigs regularly. So cool - so says my 11 year old (guitar and piano playing) daughter. :)

  4. Story of my life. Have run (owned) an art shop in Chelsea/Kensington last 16 years. Saturdays are the worst - sitting here now that's why it struck a chord. After a while, I quietly stand up and politely show them my favourite piece in the shop - my late 20th century door. Most get it, but there are some ........

  5. Hi there

Returned to playing after a 16 year hiatus. Happy to be back
Bit of soul, bit of funk, bit of jazz, whatever takes my fancy
Still with my trusty '70s P Bass - newer strings though, just!
    Living down in Sussex

May the funk be with you
