1. Hi guys. im hoping to strike up a covo with other Ray users over tones.
I am a proud Stingray user but recently ive been a little disapointed in the tone of my 5 string. the upper registers from the A string up seem a little course and thin. i really have to boost the eq on my GK to get anywhere near what i want. My Stingray 4 however sounds perfect all across the board even on a flat EQ. nice highs and smooth middy and bass tones along with the thump expected.

So bass chatters, any ideas what i can do? anyone else have this issue if you use both 4/5? Before you reply please realise besides no. of strings these basses are identical i.e wood. R'wood neck even the finnish and brand of strings.

Thanks. :)

I've been working on this here and there but on my 3rd layer of Z-poxy now, not put any more pictures up as its not really changed much even though I've spend hours putting it on, sanding it back, putting another layer on etc etc. should be on my last coat now.

I thinkim keeping this natural and not putting a burst on. Can't bring myself to cover up any of that grain.

I agree keep the beauty of the wood there on show. How much did the body cost from warmoth? including shipping?

3. Hi I am a Bass player from Bristol. very interested in dep work and I take tribute bands very seriously. I have been in a chilis tribute before and love the Foos also. I have large transport and Gallien Krueger rig with my MM Stingray. Hope im not to late and the position has been filled? My skill set would be perfect for this genre/dynamic of music. please PM me if the role is still open. cheers Shane

4. A year ago I decided I didn't want to shell out for nice things. And the idea hit me to build my own bass cab. 'How hard can it be?' I thought. so I began planning. A lot of things to learn I have to say and I could only fine ONE book on the subject of knocking together cabs! nearly done now but here's a crude phone pic of the nearly finished product ;)

5. doubt position still open but if you need a reliable bass player im am based in Bristol, I have played in a chili pepper tribute before untill we split in 2008. I have transport and reliable gear- MM Stingray, GK head so nice flea sound will be there. I have dark hair, about 5 10" and the right build (ish) so not far from Flea and ive not problem doing the animated/crazy stage thing. Any questions please contact me- "][email protected].

6. Fantastic piece of work buddy! i have recently built a 115 cab that looks amazing but have yet to put a speaker and a grill on
but after seeing that im confident mine will be fine and you have persuaded me to build a 210 also. my current 410 Ashdown abm is heavy,
off balanced and does my gk 10001rb2 no justice. bring on the custom!!

7. Any suggestions for a rack mount compressor to use live. i have repeatedly blown speakers over the past few months
(thanks a lot Ashdown! ) with my MM Stingray.
So....... i wanna help protect any new speakers which are now being powered by an ever more powerful GK 1001 RBII
and i want the rig to last.

Any suggestions?
