1.
EDIT. And I now have slight GAS for an Urge.
Ive had my Urge II for a coupla years now...quite simply they are the best basses in the world IMO! If you can get your hands on one you'll never take them off of it!

I'm gutted I havent been able to get to any of these. I'm dying to see Stu play...damn work!

  3. Howdy lads and ladies!

I recently made a bit of an impulse purchase of a Sandberg Basic 4, thinking it would compliment my fender nicely and be great for my band...but it seems my fender is simply the best bass for me, and have now suddenly realised i can't afford it at all...you know what they say about hindsight!

The bass itself is in great condition...as new as it is only a few weeks old and it hasn't yet been gigged. It sounds amazing, single musicman style humbucker in the mid position, active with 1 volume, 1 mid, 1 bass and 1 treble control (3 band eq?). The bass is translucent blue with a white pickguard. it comes with sandberg stainless strings .40 guage. Its very nice to play, very similar to a ray I tried not so long ago. it is still able to have a free setup courtesy of guitarworks in reading, I am not sure if this is open to second time buyers I will go in and ask them.

I paid £800 for it brand new so would like as close to this as physically possible, make me near offers guys, as i need to pay off the credit card I'm not open to trades im afraid.

I will post pics up as soon as I can, hopefully later today. people are more than welcome to come and see and try the bass out, i live in windsor. I wouldnt like to post it as it only comes with a gigbag but we can arrange delivery for petrol money or something along those lines, collection is obviously welcome too!

Thanks for taking the time to read this and sorry my spelling and general english is awful in places, please let me know if i have failed to mention anything that needs to be or on any improvements that are required!

  4. Hello

I am embarking upon a new random custom bass which will use a single Musicman style pickup. I am after some guidance about them as its safe to say I'm fairly clueless on this subject!
I have looked at Seymour Duncans, EMGs and Bartolini however except for a name they all seem pretty much the same! I'm planning on using active circuitary for it. I don't really have a budget planned as of yet (awaiting quotes for a body and sourcing a neck, whatever I'm left with will be spent on the pickup and controls).
Was also wondering about preamps and things to use with said pickup...?

    Cheers in advance

  5. Hello

I'm after the musicman sound but having played a couple of stingrays and a sterling I couldn't get comfortable with either of them and I can't quite put my finger on why. Seeing as I love jazz basses I hatched a plan to try and get my hands on a jazz style body routed for MM pickup. So far I've found that Warmoth can do it but I'm not a huge fan of ordering from the states. Has anyone on here orfered from Warmoth before...?

Alternatively is there anywhere I can get it done in the UK...?

    Cheers

  6. Greetings

I have spotted myself a MM Sterling on EBay in need of some repair and TLC and I wanna get it as my first project. It was listed as having a few minor wiring faults, in need of a respray and the fretboard needs to be reglued other than that in a playable state just not the prettiest bass ever. However, he has added, as of yesterday, that the neck is twisted...is this repairable and if not where can I get hold of a MM neck, preferabley sterling type neck?

    Cheers in advance!
