2. Such a shame I missed this. I could have killed 2 birds with 1 stone, buy a great bass at very reasonable price and get a free neck for my heavily modified Shergold Marathon with short scale non original neck. ( which is fantastic anyway )

I'd be interested to buy the neck alone if new owner doesn't need it

Cheers

3. Hello to all Low-end Lovers

Up for sale is this 1974/75 USA Made Fender Precision Bass,
Sunburst finish with black pickguard and one piece maple neck with skunk stripe.
The neck is B profile, width at nut is 41,33mm
Serial number on the neckplate ( 603136 ) dates to 1975, CTS pots date to 1974,
only four digits of the neck heel stamp are visible ( 0103 IMO )
The Bass is all original (Body, Neck, Finish, Tuners, Pickups, Pots, Output Jack, Knobs,
Pickguard, Neckplate, Screws, Strap Buttons ) other than bridge
The bridge IMO is non original, it has 2 extra screw holes in front of the baseplate
but seems to be as old as the bass
The original nut was already broken before I bought the bass so it was replaced with
new Fender Genuine nut but the original one will be included in the sale
Sorry, there were neither pickup and bridge covers nor thumbrest fitted at the time of purchase.
During some period of time a replacement bridge cover might have been fitted.
There are two sets of holes as you can see from the photos

The Bass comes with a non original but period correct hard case

I purchased the bass in a pawn shop so I know nothing about its history and previous owner/owners

There is a fair amount of wear, scratches, chips, dings and dents (one ugly "war mark"below control knobs)
but it is all a part of the real relic look of a great sounding vintage bass and can be expected on a instrument
almost 40 years old.

All Electronics and Hardware are in good working Order
The frets are original and in good shape and show only a minimum sign of wear
The bass has flatwound strings fitted. The neck is straight and truss rod is working properly
however set up by a technician to make it suit your needs is highly recommended

This bass is incredibly light weight - only 8,2 lbs

If You are looking for a great sounding vintage Fender Precision Bass, this is it.
£ 1450.00 ONO

I will consider all reasonable offers so don't be afraid to make one, if its too low for me i will politely decline.

I am based in Leyton London

Feel free to ask me any question

Thanks for looking

5. Hi
i have a little mystery to solve
I recently bought this used vintage 'Made in Japan' badged jazz bass copy.
Can anyone help me to identify manufacturer and year it was made ?

I have seen many similar looking basses on the net / Aria model 1540, Electra, Greco, Maya, Sakura, Hisonus, Elk BS-490YSB, Fernandes Burny, Columbus /
but none of them identical

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Probably Columbus made by Matsumoku in 70's

6. Hi guys, mainly all Fender Jazz Bass enthusiasts.

My name is Lubo and I am new to the forum.

I recently bought this secondhand bass guitar from Cashconverters in London. The guitar was sold to me as "Guitar Fender Jazz Bass" / it is printed on sales receipt and price
tag sticker / I knew almost nothing about evaluating the authencity of a Fender Jazz Bass so at first moment I was quite sure the guitar was real Fender despite strange scratches
on the back of the headstock.

Now after doing some googling i have serious doubts whether it is authentic Fender or "Fakender"
If anyone could help me to identify this bass guitar it would be greatly appreciated

What I have found out:

The body:
grounding wire to the bridge I have seen only on Japan made Fender or Squier 62 reissues

11 screw pickguard I have seen only on Japan made Fender or Squier 62 reissues

chrome control knobs fit non Japan Squier

The neck:
decal I have checked serial number with guitarproject website and it says th guitar was made in japan in 1995 or 1996
but I think the decal is fake.

skunk stripe neck I have not seen on Japan made Fender or Squier, mostly seen on Mexican Fender or China,Korea, Indonesia Squier

tuners with oval shaped
machines and gaps between them would fit Mexican Fender or non Japan Squier

scratched out area on the back
of the headstock would fit Mexican Fender decal but would not fit Squier decal

trim around the truss
rod access hole fits Mexican Fender

sorry for my poor English
Any ideas?
