  1. I bought dave's Lakland 55-02 dlx.
Not a word too little about the quality and sound.
Decent and honest person to deal with. Packed beyond expectations and delivered at my place in The netherlands just as he said it would.
Would not hesitate at all to do business again with Dave.
    Cheers,

    René

Is the bass onthe right a Yamaha bass?
if so, that looks like replacement pick-ups that fit in the standard routed cavity.
    You have more info?

  3. About 12 years ago I bought myself a beautiful Fbass but sold it within 1,5 month. Couldn't get used to the extra string.
However picked up a really old en abused Yamaha TRB5 and love the feel & shape of the neck and a 5 string feels natural to me now. As you can imagine I'm really pissed that this wasn't 12 years ago since I had the budget for this F-bass then....

  4. Ok, so I assume that when I install a new pre amp I can solder the two 'hot' wires from one pickup together to a volumepot. Is that correct?
And what does the boost in the orinal preamp do?
Does any of you know where to find more technical info like freg.ranges, schematics and such?

  5. Hi,I'm pretty new up here and bought a second hand TRB5 (serie 1).
how does the preamp actually work?

Besides that there is a problem with the bass boost. an I'm thinking of installing a different preamp.
but doeas any of you know that de pickups are dual-coil. does that mean I can install a switch and split the coil?
And are the pick-ups en preamp available as an official replacement product?
    Questions..questions...questions :)
    Hope you guys can help.
